Regina Mixon Quote Poster 2

As I pondered on some of the reasons things had not gone as I had hoped in my life, one thing resonated within and this may possibly be the thing that keeps you from succeeding…I was double-minded! Yes, and we know the word says a double-minded person is unstable in all their ways. Before you crucify me, allow me to explain and you may just see yourself in this.

Throughout the years, I have vacillated back and forth between staying on a job which provided comfort while pursuing my businesses and ministry. For awhile this was okay as in going through the various stages of learning it was absolutely necessary to continue doing both BUT the season ended a while ago and yet I still tried to hold onto my good job, my comfort zone, and pursue my purpose at the same time. It didn’t work. Torn between two lovers.

And things got worse on both.

God graced me for a season to be able to do both effectively but after that season was over I could not and would not let go.  I was mediocre in both and hated that. I was also extremely exhausted and frustrated because things were not happening.

He gave me the strength that was needed for that season. I was like Jonah when the season ended: God said “go” and I said “no”.  But, I got turned around

You might ask what stopped me. I’ll tell you– it was fear of letting go of what was familiar, wanting to stay around the people I grew to know and love and because of this I ended up exhausted, not being fully effective or efficient in either of the jobs I was doing. Still, I held on.

It was my having my plan and trying to make my plan happen and not surrendering 100% to His plan.

Before you say “You? You’re a woman who talks faith all the time!” Yes I do!

Yes, although I didn’t fully realize it at the time, but I was caught in the clutches of “FEAR”. Imagine that!

When a person becomes hungry enough for the vision God has placed inside of them and realize that we do walk completely by faith, then that person is ready to receive the blessings God has for them. We honor and show God that we trust Him!

God is calling many from their comfort zones into the walk of faith. Will you accept the call or will you hang up the phone?

Something else I realized by learning from the school of hard knocks: When one is not hungry enough, when one has “their” backup plan, when one does not aggressively commit 100% into their purpose, another cannot do business with them. A person must be able to deliver what they promise, when they promise and how they promise. If one has too many irons in the fire, too many options, so to speak, it causes them to put your business on the back burner resulting in your business suffering.

Why? Because that individual has to decide if they are hungry enough and going whole hog into their purpose. When that becomes their number one priority, then and only then, can one do business with them.

Okay, so February 28th I broke the cycle and left my good government job, the awesome and amazing people I work with and I jumped! Now I am resting up for a minute, getting some things in order, and moving forward. Yes, Lord!

Frightened a bit, but doing it anyway.

What if I fail? What if I win!!! After all, we are DESTINED2WIN! So failure is not even optional.

I encourage you to “JUMP” into your purpose. Don’t creep…JUMP! I am so glad I did and only wish I had been obedient earlier. Partial obedience is disobedience!

Now I can admit my shortcomings and as you look at the person staring back in the mirror at you, ask yourself–Do I really want it? Am I hungry enough yet? If the answer is yes, JUMP!!!

While we are on the subject, ladies, I said ladies, can you hear me? If you sit back and want that house cleaned and you know it’s filthy, JUMP up and clean it and repeat it as often as needed.  Holler!

If you want to rid yourself of excess weight, hit the gym or go walking or do something at least 3 days a week…JUMP!

If you wish for that degree, guess what? Wishing won’t make it happen…JUMP!

Consistency is the key!

Dedication, determination, disciplined, decisive, faithful, focused, fearless…

Whatever it is you desire, the time is now to JUMP! That is, if you really want it.

Men, you too! Jump, jump, jump to it!

I’m hungry and I am jumping like crazy…time for me to eat. I recall a scene from the movie BAPS where the male character is telling his lady (through tears) that he wants to be able to take her to a nice restaurant to eat and they shouldn’t have to sit back and watch others eat all the time (or something to that affect) and not be able to eat themselves.

Well, if you’re like me and tired of watching others eat while you sit on the sidelines, you too will JUMP!!!

If I fail, if I succeed, at least now I will live totally and completely as I believe. Holler!

One last thing, what if you jump and it does not work out? Will the people mock me? Will the people support me? Will I look foolish? Will I lose?

Reverse that: The people will support me. The people will celebrate me. The people will encourage and cheer me on. Those that are going to will; those that don’t really does not matter. Truth!

JUMP into whatever God is calling you to do. Don’t wait. Don’t procrastinate. Don’t vacillate between your plan and God’s plan. Just participate and surrender fully your will to His. Then you are ready to JUMP.

By the way, pick up a copy of Steve Harvey’s book, JUMP. I have it, haven’t read it yet, gifted a copy to a friend but I know it’s going to be yet another tool to help keep me motivated.

Have a great week!

The Cost of Freedom

Is freedom really free or is there a price that is paid for freedom? Do we actually have freedom of speech as laid out in the 1st Amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America?  What about the freedom to be and/or do whatever our desires are?

Amendment I

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

In all honesty, we know that freedom of speech is almost non-existent. We can take a look at several cases where people have actually lost jobs, been arrested, verbally attacked, stereotyped and labeled as hate groups, and so many other negative actions taken against them as they exercised their right for free speech. The laws define, and sometimes on a case-by-case basis , what is and is not free speech.

Churches have been labeled as ones promoting hate as they do nothing but preach the word of God.  The press has been arrested or “called out” by some as they attempt to do their jobs in covering the news. People peaceably protesting have been arrested for no real cause. So, is there a price to pay for freedom?

Let’s take it on another level, a personal level for most individuals. As you continued your education or climbed the ladder of success in hopes of securing a better life for you and yours, did you pay a price? Yes, you did. You were in search of financial security and debt freedom, a home for your family, obtaining a great job, buying a car, starting a business…You were in search of freedom as you defined it for yourself and your family. So what was the price you paid?

I’ll tell you some of the prices paid/investments made as you sought after freedom–

  1. In order to continue your education, many first had to put up an INVESTMENT of MONEY unless you were given a full scholarship or grants covering your education. The investment may have been made via student loans, parental support or any number of ways but an investment was made. The same holds true for starting a business, buying a home or a car. There was an investment of money made upfront.
  2. As you sought after freedom in the areas shown above, there was an INVESTMENT of TIME made and most likely lots and lots and lots of it; sometimes years. You put in the time in studying. You put in the time in searching out the best deals when considering purchases. Time was invested in finding out the best possible home in the location you desired to live in for the best price. When searching for a vehicle for your family the same holds true. You looked at numerous houses and cars before actually purchasing one. You invested time in seeking out the best possible deals  for the amount you were willing to pay. You didn’t jump and buy the first thing you saw without counting up the cost and you SAVED towards a down payment or outright purchase.
  3. You made the INVESTMENT of PATIENCE. Yes, patience is an investment that leads to freedom. As you studied hard to pass the courses you realized that it would take a minimum of two years or four years or perhaps even six years before you actually obtained the degree or completed the course. You patiently waited and while doing so, you worked your butt off. You searched and looked for the houses/vehicles. You researched and learned everything you could about starting a business. You patiently accepted the fact that you were going to have to continue education in some form or another in order to stay relevant.
  4. You made the INVESTMENT and understood the necessity of DELAYED GRATIFICATION. You saw the end at the beginning and kept it in mind as you pursued. You were focused!  There were many things you may have WANTED but you understood the difference between WANTING and NEEDING and so you denied yourself these items. Now you can buy all of the shoes and other items you want. The price was paid upfront so that you could reap the benefits at the end.
  5. You paid the price by being MISUNDERSTOOD by your friends and family. You knew you could not go all of the places they wanted you to go. You knew in order to reach your goals you had to remain focused. You knew that many were disappointed by your decisions and didn’t understand why you were backing off and that this opened the door to much negatives–“Who does he think he is?” “I guess he’s too good for us now.” Oh we’re not good enough for Mr. College Boy” “Guess this neighborhood is not good enough for him anymore.” You understood why you were doing what you were doing and instead of some being happy for you, you were sometimes just plain ole misunderstood.
  6. You paid the price by telling the TRUTH and taking a STAND even though you knew upfront you would likely be persecuted for doing so. You took a stand and remained true to yourself and true to God. In doing so, many false accusations were made about and against you. You held fast to your convictions.
  7. You paid the price, remained true to yourself and to God and because of this, you succeeded in accomplishing your goals, dreams, and visions. And guess what, you realized the price you paid was worth it in the end.

These are just a few of the prices paid for your personal freedom(s). I’m sure you can add a lot more to the list. Suffice it to say, FREEDOM IS NOT FREE as there is a price to be paid. But once that price has been paid and the investment made, one can celebrate days of freedom many times over as each accomplishment is made.

I found many great quotes regarding the price of freedom. One stated it is death. Another stated it is eternal vigilance. Yet another stated responsibility is the price of freedom. I am in total agreement with each of these. Yes, freedom is not free.

None of our pursuits, or any worthwhile, will happen overnight. It takes time! Be willing to do whatever needs to be done, having God as your guide, faith in yourself and keep trudging along until it manifests. It will, and as stated above, you will celebrate many days of freedom.

There was an old song years ago entitled: Getting What You Want But You’re Losing What You Got”. Though I couldn’t find the lyrics to it, while searching google I did find the lyrics to a song by Coldplay: “FIX YOU” which shares some of the message I attempt to convey in these writings.

Partial Lyrics:

“When you try your best but you don’t succeed
When you get what you want but not what you need
When you feel so tired but you can’t sleep
Stuck in reverse

When the tears come streaming down your face
When you lose something you can’t replace
When you love someone but it goes to waste
Could it be worse?

Tears stream down your face
When you lose something you cannot replace
Tears stream down your face
And I

Tears stream down your face
I promise you I will learn from all my mistakes
Tears stream down your face
And I

Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you”

Sometimes in life we get what we want but at what expense? Oftentimes while getting what we want we lose precious things and people that we have. And the question becomes is what I want really worth it? Am I truly happy?

When answering the questions many times you decide that it is worth it and other times you realize that it’s not. What do I mean by the latter?

If you’re pursuing fame or fortune, the cost is often way too much as you stand to lose great relationships, sleep, money, and so much more. You’re getting what you want but you’re losing what you have. Is it worth it? For some it may be, others perhaps not.

On the other hand, if you are pursuing YOUR PURPOSE, you stand to possibly lose some of the same things BUT there is a huge difference. The things that appear to be lost are not actually gone. When one pursues their purpose, everything that’s “lost” is actually an investment and does come back to the individual multiple times over and over again. Remember in a prior message I mentioned an investment yields a return. Remember the story of Job.

Know the difference.

My advice to you is to identify and pursue YOUR PURPOSE and never go after FAME or FORTUNE. In doing the first, what appears to be loss is actually gain. In doing the second, you may actually end up getting what you want but losing what you have that can be irreplaceable.

Learn from the mistakes that’s been made and correct them. It’s not too late.

Allow the tears that stream from your face to turn from tears of sorrow into tears of joy. Tears of sorrow sometimes accompany pursuit of fame: tears of joy comes in pursuit of purpose or passion. Either way, tears will be shed, but allow them to be or become tears of joy. Get what you want but not at the expense of losing what matters most.

The light that guides you home is the light of love of our Father which gently leads and guides us into truth. Allow Him to light a fire in your bones, one that burns ever so intensely for Him. And He will fix you. As He does, allow his light to shine in and through you.

Spend or invest the time you have now in getting what you want as you pursue your purpose. You won’t lose. You WIN!!!

Yes, in life in pursuit of either, we will lose some people as God calls each of us home. That’s a given and there’s nothing we can do about it. We will lose some people as we go from one level to another. That’s also a natural part of life. We may possibly see our health decline as we age. That’s also a part of the cycle of life. But what we stand to gain is eternal life with our Father and hearing him say “Well done thy good and faithful servant” as we come to the end of this life as we know it and transition to eternal life.

The word says what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world but loses his soul.

The word also tells us to seek first the kingdom of God and ALL of these things shall be given or added unto us.

Now just to clarify, I am definitely not saying that there is anything wrong with having FAME or FORTUNE. Actually, I honestly believe that both many times come as you pursue your purpose. I am saying that I believe, and notice I said “I believe” that this is not what we should seek after but rather find, identify and pursue our purpose.

Get what you want! Give yourself and others what they need as God leads, and you not only win but you help so many others to win. You no longer have to lose.

Just a little something to think about.

Coldplay is a British Rock Band hailing from London, England.

It takes courage to acknowledge your part in the demise of a particular situation or relationship. It takes courage to admit you are wrong. It takes courage to deal with and confront difficult situations that we’ve neglected in the past. Do you have the courage to do so?

Do you find that when someone has wronged you or there’s been this ongoing rift between you and another that it’s difficult to fess up and say I was wrong, or do you allow the perceived pains and hurts to go on and on and on? Do you realize yet that life is short and holding grudges or unforgiveness towards anyone stifles your growth and possibly robs you and the other party(ies) of what can perhaps be a beautiful relationship? One ordained by God for His glory?

Do you have the courage to confront difficult situations that you’ve avoided due to fear or perhaps uncertainty as to what the outcome will be? Has your failure to do so set you on a path that has taken you off course to being the real you?

Let’s be real…let’s face it and tell the truth…we all have wronged someone. We all have been hurt. We all have said some things that we wish we could take back. We all have made some super dumb decisions. We all have experienced setbacks and disappointments.

Know this, that beautiful relationship that once was, can be restored to one better than ever…if we have the courage to confess that we were wrong and take the necessary steps to right the wrongs.

Stubbornness, being hard-hearted, prideful, fear, none of that helps to build relationships. Just the opposite is true. Playing that “Hey won’t you play another somebody done somebody wrong ” song over and over is a trick the enemy uses to steal, kill, and destroy. Confessing our part in a situation may just be the step to bring restoration.

I repeat, life is entirely too short to hold grudges that leads to confusion and destroyed relationships. Some relationships WE DO need to leave alone as they were never healthy ones in the first place but those that you know that you know that you know were…those are the ones worth fighting for.

Yes, it does take courage but guess what? God has equipped us with the strength that we need to go back and get it right. We just have to be willing to act. Now is the time.

Don’t put off for tomorrow for thou knowest not what a day may bring. Don’t hang your head in guilt, shame and sorrow when a person transitions allowing your conscience to beat you down because you had the opportunity to get some things right and chose not to. Don’t let this week go by without contacting the parties involved getting it right. Don’t do it.

Don’t ignore the people that you know you need to deal with in order to right wrongs. It costs us so much in the end.

You know as I write to you I am first ministering to myself. The word says “Today if you hear my voice, harden not your heart.” Do it now. You will only be better for it.

Confess, kiss, hug, makeup, forgive and know that in life this sometimes has to happen over and over again with the same person or group of people. Love, according to 1 Corinthians 13, covers a multitude of sins; is patient, kind, suffers long, is not puffed up, it bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails.

Don’t tell me or anyone else you love them. Love is ACTION so show me and show others.

Let’s get it right people!

Psalm 126:1-6

“1. When the LORD turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream. 2 Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, the LORD hath done great things for them. 3. The LORD hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad. 4. Turn again our captivity, O LORD, as the streams in the south. 5. They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. 6. He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.”

Oh my! Get ready for God to turn your tears of sadness into tears of joy!

There is a passage of scripture that says weeping may endure for a night but joy comes in the morning. I am here to tell you your time of mourning is over as morning has come! Somebody ought to praise Him now! God is turning things around for you!

You have felt like me, that your years of suffering, of going through, of so many hurts, pains, let downs, disappointments, lack and losses seemed to be never-ending. The devil is a liar! It’s ended! God is restoring the years that the locusts and the cankerworms and anything and everything else that the enemy has tried to use to destroy you, back to you. Somebody better say amen!

“Job, your season of suffering has ended.”  Do something for me. Replace Job’s name with your name and speak it aloud: “Regina, your season of suffering has ended”. Oh my, oh my!

Repeat this several times, placing your name where Job’s and my name is. Are you shouting yet?

Looking at the scriptural reference above, it states, “When the LORD turned…” When who? Let me let you in on a little secret; when the LORD turns things around, when He says enough is enough, He fills our mouth with laughter! God’s about to make you laugh!!!

And then, He adds singing to our tongues!!! Get ready to sing a new song!

Those tears that you’ve sown were not in vain. Do you hear me? His word says that they that sow in tears shall reap in joy. I’m shouting right about now!

Donald Lawrence song, SEASON’S is resonating within my spirit now. Glory!

There have been so many aspersions made about you and you’ve suffered silently. There has been much negatives said while some have been major supporters and others have been somewhat ambivalent; they’re sort of on the fence more or less…waiting.

Your effervescence is about to come forth like never before. You will sing, dance, and praise like never before. Your youth is being restored. Your finances are being restored. Relationships are being restored. Families are being restored. Children, like the prodigal son, that wandered off are coming home. Businesses are springing forth. Ministries are moving at accelerated rates. Restoration is taking place all over the land.

And for those naysayers who sit and watch the oh so fickle news each and every day—reading it, listening to it, posting it, meditating on it, planning based on it—let me tell you there is some good news taking place. Regardless of who sits in the White House, God still remains on the throne and no one can do any more or any less than what God ALLOWS them to do.

I choose to share the good news and that is…Get ready for God to turn YOUR sorrow into joy! Now that is some good news and news worth spreading!!!

The Blessings of the Lord Are About to Overtake YOU!!! You have been stamped “Approved by God”

Deuteronomy 28:1-7

“1.And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth: 2. And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God. 3. Blessed shall thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field. 4. Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, the increase of thy kin, and the flocks of thy sheep. 5. Blessed shall be thy basket and thy store. 6. Blessed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and blessed shalt thou be when thou goest out. 7. The LORD shall cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be smitten before thy face: they shall come out against thee one way and flee thee seven ways.”

Incessant, enormous, gigantic, supernatural, and blessings beyond your wildest dreams are headed your way…yes they are for you!

WHOA, before you get too excited about the blessings, there are some prerequisites to receive the blessing which starts with RADICAL OBEDIENCE.

The passage of scripture above tells us that IF WE hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord to observe and do ALL his commandments THEN the blessings shall come and overtake us. So obedience is the first prerequisite to receive the blessings.

The scripture reference above goes on to tell us (paraphrasing) that wherever we are, wherever we go, the blessings will literally follow or accompany us and chase us down. Isn’t that some good news?

Over the past few years, have you felt like or known that you have gone through some Job experiences: before one leaves with bad news another is knocking on your door? Well, the good, no I mean great, no I mean outstanding news is that the season of bad news is OVER!

Now don’t get me wrong, life will happen and there will be things that take place that are completely unavoidable. The bible tells us that it rains on the just as well as the unjust. It also tells us that many are the afflictions of the righteous but the Lord delivers us OUT OF THEM ALL! Yes trouble will come BUT the BLESSINGS, like never before, are about to hit your house. It’s time to get ready.

Remember, RADICAL OBEDIENCE is required…obedience to the point to where when you know God is leading you in a direction that’s uncomfortable, you go.

Allow me to share two real-life examples of what I’m talking about.

Several years back, I knew God was leading me to tell this one this or that and my first thought was “These people are going to think I’m crazy”. True to form, they did BUT out of obedience, I went. Imagine my surprise when the recipient would break down and cry and say they had been praying for God to send them a word. He allowed me to give that word. Awesome God!

The second is not my personal experience but one I’ve recently heard by many in the past few months. Many had similar experiences to mine where God led them to give a word or perform an act of kindness or give a person a hug, not realizing that what they gave was just what the person had been praying to God for or what the person needed.

They too, thought like I did, that the people would think them to be crazy or strange and were pleasantly surprised at the outcome of their act of obedience. (You do know that we who are Christians are strange—we are a chosen generation, a peculiar people. That’s what the word says.)

I’ll close with this, many years ago I had a Pastor tell me that whenever I could rise above what people said and thought and be obedient to the leadings of the Holy Spirit was when God could and would really use me and blow my mind. I say the same to you today. Get RADICALLY OBEDIENT and watch God blow your mind!!!

We are not perfect beings. As long as we are in the flesh we will make mistakes and need to go to God and others often for forgiveness. It’s so good to know that God takes imperfect and broken people and stamps “APPROVED TO SERVE”. My God is awesome!

For those who say or believe I have the propensity to talk too much (and sometimes you are right-LOL), you ain’t seen nothing yet! May I suggest you start talking too? We hold the blessings for many in our experiences, in our mouth and in our actions. Talk people! Tell of God’s goodness! Don’t be ashamed or guilty of your past. Your past gives you the ammunition to share with someone how you got over and destroy the root of guilt, shame, and anything else the enemy has planned to use to attack or keep the person from being less than God’s best! Tell it! We overcome by the blood of the lamb and the SHARING of our testimonies..SHARE!!!

Okay, so you heard it from me…The Blessings of the Lord Are About to Overtake YOU…do your part and sit back and watch. And he will even allow your enemies to have a front seat at your resurrection! Awesome!

In life, there are times when each of us most likely feel that we are completely misunderstood and seek acceptance from those we come in contact with. Feeling dejected, rejected and alone sets us on a journey of self-discovery which eventually leads us to the truth: Rejection does not mean you aren’t good enough; it means the other person failed to notice what you have to offer; your value.

Let’s take a look at a familiar passage of scripture that comes from the book of John, Chapter One in the New Testament.

John came as a witness to testify concerning the light, which we as bible readers, know to be Jesus. His purpose was so that through him all men might believe. John WAS NOT the light but testified concerning the light.

The scripture goes on to say that He, Jesus (the light of the world) was in the world but the world did not recognize him. It goes on to say, he came to his own but his own did not receive him. But to those who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave them the right to become children of God. Let’s stop here for a minute.

This passage of scripture shows us that John was a forerunner preparing people for Jesus coming and how Jesus became flesh and how many did not receive him, the Messiah. Wow!

He came to HIS OWN and they didn’t recognize or receive him. Double wow!

Do you believe he may have felt some kind of way?

Let’s take a look at Luke 10:16. From the NIV it states…”Whoever listens to you listens to me; whoever rejects you rejects me; but whoever rejects me rejects him who sent me.”

The NLT reads: “Then he said to his disciples, “Anyone who accepts your message is also accepting me. And anyone who rejects you is rejecting me. And anyone who rejects me is rejecting God, who sent me.”

So when people reject you as you go about on your God-ordained assignment of just being you and delivering the Good News, who are they actually rejecting?

Jesus told them beforehand that he was sending them (the disciples) as lambs among wolves.

He told them what to take with them, what to do when they got to their various locations and how to act upon leaving. If you know that you know that you know that you know that you are following the leading, guidance and direction of the Holy Spirit and yet are rejected by man, know that you are in good company. People despised and rejected Jesus, the then disciples, as with the modern day disciples are often rejected as each of us go about spreading the good news trying to reach those who are lost

Dr. Steve Maraboli wrote: “Every time I thought I was being rejected from something good, I was actually being re-directed to something better.” Rejection by man leads us to acceptance by God (If we are following His leadings) which is real good.

The most important thing we can do is not have self-rejection. As we move through life, we will have enough opposition and rejections from others. Don’t allow self-rejection to hinder you from being authentic and true to your purpose. You are fearfully and wonderfully made and approved by God!

You are valuable, lovable, and SOMEBODY! Allow yourself the freedom to be true to your calling; who you are and who you were created to be despite disapproval of others. You are here for a reason and a season.

God created each of us and said that EVERYTHING He made was good. Start to see yourself as He sees you. He thought you and I were worth saving, so He came and changed our lives!!! Know your worth! God does! And help others find their true worth in and through sharing Him with those that are lost and hurting.

Remember: He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ. (Phil. 1:6 KJV) Let Him finish what He started in you. You are not rejected: You my friend are loved, called, qualified, and chosen for such a time as this. You are well able.

One last thing, as you go out, don’t try to seek revenge on others for their rejection. Vengeance belongs to the Lord and He will repay. How and when is none of our business. Just love people God’s way according to the word. And don’t try to knock doors down trying to gain acceptance and approval of others; allow God to open the doors, windows and whatever else He has for you to walk through. Fully surrender to the call and He will put you exactly where He wants you.

Embrace those who receive you. Shake the dust off your feet and move on from those that don’t.

You’re not rejected but being re-directed to something better.

Peace & Blessings!

What makes one person seem super successful in their field or endeavors and yet others, pursuing the same,  who give their all, and follow almost all of the prescribed methods given, unsuccessful? Is one more qualified than the other? Is it largely due to the connections another has? Is it due to lack of faith on the part of the unsuccessful person? Is it the person has a supportive spouse/team to rely on or perhaps more financial backings not having to deal with the hassles of small things like: How do we live? Where will we live? How do we eat…while building?  Is it due to the unsuccessful person doing almost all? Or, is it just not the season?

The realm of possibility begins in the mind. Whatever we can believe we can achieve. So does one person lack belief in themselves as to their capabilities? Is the person waiting for the right people or the ideal time to step out or maybe…I mean maybe…there’s a bit of fear taking place.

Yes, having a supportive spouse/team or proper financial backings does help tremendously, but when one does not have either, it may take longer to accomplish, yet it still can be done.

Has the individual fully prepared for their assignment? Is that person stuck waiting on the same people that started out with them to cross the finish line with them? Does one know when it’s time to pass the  baton and the other fails to realize it?

Has unresolved hurts from the past caused the person to miss opportunities? What about past disappointments? Church hurts? Family hurts?  It didn’t work before so why should I think it will work now. Reality check: Perhaps you are in a better position this time and more adequately prepared than before. Everything happens in its season. You do play a huge part in deciding when your season begins. That is, after you’ve properly prepared and are ready to become a doer and not just a hearer.

Has the individual paid the price for their success which consists of investing by studying, learning, growing, networking, praying, falling down, getting back up and repeating the process year-after-year-after- year?

Today I encourage you to really examine yourself if this is you. I can attest to the fact that even though I have taught and wrote about having no fear, I have experienced it myself. Yes there are some things I KNOW that I need to and have needed to do for some time that I’ve allowed fear to keep me from actually doing. Is this you too?

There are SO many things I have done afraid. There are some where I’ve looked utterly and completely foolish. I was learning and growing. It’s not that season anymore. There are other times I’ve stepped out and succeeded.

Going to the doctor and he tells one in order to be healthier, you must follow these steps. Is it the doctor’s fault if you don’t follow the prescribed plan and end up stagnant or even worse off than you were before?

Mentors, teachers, and others tells you in order to get from point A to B to C to D and so on, these are the necessary steps to take. You fail to take the steps. Is it their fault that you don’t succeed?

Preachers gives us the unadulterated word of God. We go Sunday after Sunday and sometimes all during the week and hear the word. Is it their fault that ones life is in shambles because one chooses to go his own way? No, no, no!

Over the past few weeks, I realized that in order to pursue my purpose passionately, I need to make a lot of changes. When one is changing, one goes through the various stages of death as one is utterly dying to the old in order to embrace the new. We know losses due to death can be very painful.

It can be something as simple yet complicated as knowing you need to relocate (You’ve been in your current neighborhood for years and moving is painful. What if I don’t like the new place or the new area?  (Questions); or knowing you need to leave a job you’ve been in for years and change careers (You’ve developed relationships with others and they are now more like family plus it provides stability); or knowing you need to move to another church (You love the people in your old one, but you know it’s time as you’re relocating); or if you have young children involved knowing their life is changing (A move likely requires a change in schools); or knowing there are some people you really need to walk away from.

A person may even decide in this season that starting a brand new business is what s/he wants to do, dismantling the old one…something totally different from what they’ve done before but are properly prepared and equipped to do.

One goes through denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and finally gets to a point of acceptance. These are referred to as The 5 Stages of Grief or The 5 Stages of Death. I’ll add another to this list of things we go through and that is carrying the weight of guilt.

When changes take place from what’s been one’s norm, we often look at who’s to blame for our being forced to change. We’ve become comfortable yet uncomfortable. People disappoint us. We play the mind game–If only this had happened, I could have stayed here. If only this person would have done this or that, I wouldn’t be in this position. Yeah that blame game can be something else.

This is the season to die to all of what was to embrace what is and who/what you’re becoming.

Decide who you are, where you want to go, plan it, work towards it and watch it happen. Decide what you want to do and have the courage to go after it.

As I looked back over some of my journals covering a span of years, I realized there were some things I had repeated over and over again; vows that I had made to myself that I failed to follow through on. I can be totally transparent as I know I am not the only one.

Things are changing. The cheese is constantly moving. The decision is– do we get on with whatever it is or do we get left behind? And honestly, it’s God who is doing the shaking, making what once was your comfort zone, no longer comfortable. He’s moving us to greater BUT He won’t force us.

We cannot hold on to the old and embrace the new. There comes a time when we must let go of what no longer fits where we’re going. Not easy but necessary. Actually every step along your and my journey is and has been necessary.

Life is but a vapor. We are here today and gone today. So what are you waiting on?

I’m coming out. I want the world to know Got to let it show. Let this be your testimony today and then do it…Don’t believe me? Just watch! This time it’s for real! My actions will speak!

The realm of possibility does begin in the mind. And to answer the question posed…yes it is my season!!! Is it yours?

Newton’s Third Law of Motion states that for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. There is a force– a push and a pull; a pair of forces acting on the two interacting objects. For the sake of this writing, as it relates to interactions with individuals, I will simplify it by saying whatever one sends out to another ends up returning to the sender. This is referred to as The Law of Karma.

Let’s say for example, you give a kind word to another causing the person to feel happy or elated; a compliment given that puts a smile on the face of its intended recipient. In doing so, this bounces back to you, the sender, causing a smile to also cross your face.

The question becomes: Are you really serious about changing your life?

Instead of wishing you can change certain areas of life, apply the Law of Karma and make some changes that will assure your life changes. Whatever one gives out is what they will receive…it bounces back…it has a boomerang effect.

Ways to change in a positive direction

  • If you want and desire love in your life, freely give it to others
  • If you want and desire acceptance from others for who you are, accept others as they are
  • If you want and desire encouragement and support from others, be an encourager and supporter
  • If you want and desire increased finances in your life, be a generous giver
  • If you want and desire compassion, be compassionate
  • If you want and desire forgiveness for wrongs done to others, be forgiving of others
  • If you want and desire…whatever, be willing to give it out first and allow it to come back to you.

If you are serious about seeing some positive life-changing experiences take place in your life, be very generous in what you give out. The bible tells us to give and it shall be given unto you; good measured, pressed down, shaken together, and running over shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure you mete withal it shall be measured to you again. (Luke 6:38) This is God’s law.   So whatever change you are ready to see take shape in your life, first be willing to give it to others.

There are several other laws that when applied, can and will be life-changing: The Law of Reciprocity and The Law of Attraction immediately comes to mind. Read up on these, implement them in your life and watch what happens.

I know, you are probably thinking to yourself by now that you’ve done these things over and over again with very little results. Keep in mind that as you give these out to others, they may or may not come back from that particular individual but it will come back. Take the risk. It’s worth it.

Will everyone receive what you offer? No! However for every one that doesn’t there are countless others who will. Will those you’ve supported throughout the years reciprocate? Maybe. That’s not your concern. Who does and who does not is truly not your issue.  Do your part and trust the process.

So, are you ready? Let’s go!
