Read what one reader had to say about it–

Let me begin by saying what, Women Waiting to Exhale: You Have Permission, is not. It’s not your Wednesday evening prayer meeting and it’s not a blind lady conquers Mt. Everest. It’s real, gut wrenching stories, relatable tales, babies having babies and men siphoned off to the streets to hit the pipe. It’s about overcoming the DNA that wants to push you into making the same mistakes over and over again.
Each chapter has a wonderful introduction by Regina G Mixon, a brief bio of who the next voice will be and a grateful nod to their family. Then it’s a quick dive into each of these varied women’s lives. And their stories shine light on the things most of us keep in the shadows, sexual assaults, failed relationships, divorce and poor parenting. These brave women face their fears and usually with a bible in their hands.
And these are God without action bares no fruit gals. They pummel you with a force and it’s pushing you to forgive yourself, learn to love yourself and that’s a big first step toward the final result which is, the storm will end, things will be okay. Give it some time and you can accept that death, learn from the mistakes of a failed relationship and move beyond the divorce. Many of those physical problems will be resolved. The problem child that you helped create will settle down. Your special needs child will improve. In understanding Gods perfection in creation one’s self esteem is lifted in recognizing the uniqueness and beauty not just inside but outside as well.
I recommend this book to anyone who needs a little fixing, a nudge toward improving your relationship with yourself as well as with God. Reading this book was a pleasure.

THAT MOMENT

Ever had that moment when clarity came as to why you experienced what you have for so long? Ever had the divine revelation that what you had gone through was not even about you, but preparing you mightily to minister to others? I did and it came today.

God’s ways are not our ways. His methods of preparing us to minister to the masses are truly not ours. Let me share with you.

When in Louisiana, I endured some of the hardest times in my life—that is after God said He would use me for ministry. Prior to that, it wasn’t perfect by any means, but what took place after the calling were hardships and lots of them. Those led me to go off in search of sources to assist me in my struggles; they helped me to identify resources and gaps within the NW Louisiana area.

Fast forward, a few years later and I relocate back to the Southern California area. Things started off rocky as I was dealing with issues from my past while trying to move forward. Not only did I have unresolved financial issues after not being gainfully employed for 4 years, but I had unresolved hurts that I was dealing with. Things began to taper off and life was well…for a while. But then…

Disasters struck. Many things occurred that were totally beyond my control. The dark cloud came and hovered, like in Louisiana, for many years. These led me to go in search of help in the Southern California area.

God has been preparing me; or rather many of us, to collaborate, identify and fill gaps. The easier way for me would have been to just connect with the organizations I know provide the services, find out exactly what they do, and include it in our Information & Referral Program with God’s Storehouse. That was my way. It didn’t happen that way.

When a person has felt the pains so intensely, one who was once well-respected in the community, seeks to their lowest point in life, and cannot find the help they need or even after searching for months, can’t connect with the help, the person walks through and feels the pain so intensely that they can never be the same.

Now just imagine what a person goes through feels when they are not respected, considered an outcast, a nobody and they go off in search of help. Everyone loves a person when they are winning, but who loves and respects and extends a hand to those that are hurting? Those looking for a hand up and not a hand out? Some do, but sadly many pass them by.

I’ve gone into stores and other places dressed in my suits, heels, dresses, whatever, and gotten full respect and treatment. I’ve gone into some of the same stores in sweats and jeans and sneakers and looked at as if I were a thief.

I’ve experienced dealing with loved ones on drugs, suicidal, abused, in dire need of rental assistance or food or need in some kind of way. I’ve seen how they were treated. Heck, I’ve lived through the pains. Divorces, victims of domestic violence, those trying to start businesses and non-profits and keep going to the wrong people (those that say they can provide a service) while being misinformed and taken advantage of on every level.

I’ve seen people’s frustration as they attempted to connect with people to pull together a book not fully understanding the process.

I’ve experienced isolation, rejection, all of that. It hurt like hell but it didn’t make me bitter but better—better to the point that now that my season of suffering has ended, I am going to do any and everything, with God’s help, to get my life on track and then go out and help others in a huge way through the lessons learned, the services offered, by being compassionate. Isn’t that what matters most at the end of the day?

I walked through the pains and I felt the hurts. I know I’m not the only one.

Don’t allow the enemy have you hang your head in shame or feel guilt over something you had no control. Don’t allow the enemy to deceive you into thinking your suffering was in vain. Allow God to use your pain for His purpose.

Why NW Louisiana and Southern California? Those are the areas where God’s Storehouse and Regina Mixon Enterprises will serve. How can one fill a need if they don’t know the need?

In just a minute, I’m going to put on my robe and tell the story how I made it over. Are you ready to put your robe on? Why don’t you join me by sharing your story? Oh freedom! Ah, that moment when…

“Helping Others Pursue their Purpose is MY Passion!”   “Helping Aspiring Authors Bring their Book from Dream or Vision to Reality”

This is the truth so help me God! I am a living testimony!!!

It happened to me and I know that I am not the only one!

In my writings, I attempt to provide real and relatable messages of the powers we have available to us to break through barriers to live the life God planned for us. Regardless of where you are on the socioeconomic scale, you can begin to live a very fulfilled and rewarding life with your eyes wide open!

God alone changes the trajectory of one’s life after the season of His allowed or permitted sufferings. Won’t He do it?

In order to find one’s strength, sometimes the plan is for one to go through and grow through adversities. Once one has made it on the other side, one can really help to open the blind eyes of others simply by sharing.

How? By sharing biblical as well as pragmatic principles towards helping others be or become the person they were designed to be.

I told you a few weeks ago to get ready for some changes as many changes were taking place with me personally, Regina Mixon Enterprises, and God’s Storehouse Ministries and they have and continue to do so. I’ll continue to share my journey with you in hopes that someone is encouraged as they go through their struggles. I’ll continue to share the wisdom gained in hopes that if only one person wakes up, this journey was not in vain

A new dream and vision was given me sometime ago and that is one of First Loving myself totally and completely and showing it as with First Leading myself. Believe me I do! I believe not only that I can F.L.Y.: I believe I can S.O.A.R. and I am! This girl is on fire and on the move! WINNING!!!

You can too!

If He has to reach way down, Jesus will pick you up! When you’re at rock bottom, the only place to go is up! Go up with more wisdom! Go up with more knowledge! Go up with more power! Go up with more compassion! Go up with more courage! Go up with more tenacity! Go UP!

Remember: Be blessed and go out and be a blessing, but don’t allow anyone to make you or have you compromise your beliefs; don’t be gullible; don’t settle for less than God’s best in every area and all aspects of your life; don’t allow anyone to minimize the gifts and talents God has given you nor downplay your worth; don’t discount your works and/or services. I did and the price paid was a very costly one. Be true to who you are! As Whitney sang “Learning to love yourself is the greatest love of all”. Well that comes after loving God first!

Check out my article written in February 2016 which further deals with the subject matter “Losing to Win”     https://togodbetheglory.wordpress.com/2016/02/03/sometimes-youve-got-to-lose-to-win/

Restoration 4

Has it appeared you have been spiraling downwards for a long, long time? Have you  done the best you know how in life and still the downward slippery slope continues? Are you beginning to feel helpless or hopeless? Well, today I have some good news for you! God has given promises throughout His word that He will restore everything that you’ve lost and give you more than you had before!

Yes, after we’ve suffered for a while, God says in His word that He will restore the years that the locusts and the cankerworms and anything else has taken from us. In order to see this, we must return to Him with our whole heart, mind, body and soul. (Joel 2)

Do we have to go through sufferings in life? Sometimes yes and sometimes no. It honestly depends on whether these are allowed by God or come as a result by our own actions.

Let’s take a look at the lives of two people we are all familiar with. Let’s see the struggles endured, the promise of restoration given, and restoration actually taking place.

Joseph’s story

You’ve read and heard Joseph’s story countless times. You’ve heard how he went from the pit to the palace. You’ve read and been told of his struggles for many years. The betrayals, the false accusations made against him, people promising to remember him and then only to be forgotten until later.

Joseph was CHOSEN! The things that happened in his life were not mere coincidences nor a series of bad luck. No, they were planned and orchestrated before he was even born. God knew what would happen before it took place and allowed all of this.

The end of the story is Joseph reigned and ruled just as God had promised him. He was totally restored and placed into a position of power.

Job’s story

Job, in the bible, was depicted as perfect and upright; a man who feared God and eschewed evil; a man of great wealth with a large family and possessions and stated to be the greatest man in all men of the east. Yet Job’s life changed and took a downward spiral which lasted for a long time.

His friends and the people thought surely he was not the man of God who he professed to be. His wife even had the audacity to suggest that he curse God and die after losing their children and possessions and even the decline in his health, but Job remained steadfast.

Unbeknown to Job, Satan had gone to God asking permission to touch Job’s life and God allowed it.

If you read to the end of the story, you will see that after a season of testing, trials, and tribulations, God restored EVERYTHING the enemy had stolen from him and gave him more than he had before.

Jeremiah the Prophet

Jeremiah, known as the weeping prophet, was anointed as a prophet to the nations before he was even formed in the womb. (Jeremiah 1:5). When the word of the Lord came to him, the first thing he began to do what to tell God what he could not do. God had already chosen him and it was a done deal.

Jeremiah went later proclaiming the word of God, sharing with the people what the Lord told him to share. Was he embraced and welcomed for sharing nothing but the word of God? Oh no! Instead some plotted to kill him. Yet, because of his calling, he continued to do as God led him to do.

The people forsook God. The people turned away and began to worship false idols. Jeremiah continually reminded them of their need to turn back to their first love as he was led by the Lord

Even through drought, famine, and other disastrous acts taking place, the people continued to rebel.

Let’s fast forward to Jeremiah 33 where God gives His promise of restoration.. Jeremiah tells the people that God merely says “Call to me and I will answer and show you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.”

God gave a promise that He would bring health and healing but there were conditions attached: Return to Him! Read Jeremiah 33 Did these ever manifest?

In the first two cases, we see where after the sufferings took place and because of their steadfastness, the promises of God manifested and restoration took place. The prophet Jeremiah was mentioned in these writings only to show that even through his obedience to God in merely telling the people what God had spoken to him to share, the people rebelled and insisted on doing it their way. You know the story.

God has given us promises of restoration through His Rhema and written word; promises of restoration. God has given many of us spoken promises of where He is taking us. As John Hagee stated, first comes the promise, then the problems, and finally the provisions.

The truth and nothing but the truth is, if He spoke it to you, it was already done. The process of going through is an often painful one, but God knows and often speaks the end at the beginning.

The questions I want to leave you with are: Has God spoken anything to you as to where He wants you to go? Have or did you answer the call? Has your life turned upside-down since hearing, receiving, and answering the call? Has your faith been tried and tested over and over again? Do you trust God in the good and the bad? Do you believe that ALL things are working together for your good? Are you swift to obey Him and His leadings or do you give lip service? Are you sick and tired of being sick and tired?

The GOOD NEWS is GOD is FAITHFUL and after you have suffered a while, after you have endured the tests, after you’ve stood for what you believe that God has given you, day in and day out, God will SUDDENLY restore absolutely everything the enemy took from you and give you more for your trouble!

The drought and famine is ending! Only believe and obey.

Keep standing! Once delivered, be not entangled in the bondage again. Keep standing and holding to the promises of God. Your time of restoration is on the way!

Galatians 5:1King James Version (KJV)
5 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

Regina Mixon Quote Poster 2

As I pondered on some of the reasons things had not gone as I had hoped in my life, one thing resonated within and this may possibly be the thing that keeps you from succeeding…I was double-minded! Yes, and we know the word says a double-minded person is unstable in all their ways. Before you crucify me, allow me to explain and you may just see yourself in this.

Throughout the years, I have vacillated back and forth between staying on a job which provided comfort while pursuing my businesses and ministry. For awhile this was okay as in going through the various stages of learning it was absolutely necessary to continue doing both BUT the season ended a while ago and yet I still tried to hold onto my good job, my comfort zone, and pursue my purpose at the same time. It didn’t work. Torn between two lovers.

And things got worse on both.

God graced me for a season to be able to do both effectively but after that season was over I could not and would not let go.  I was mediocre in both and hated that. I was also extremely exhausted and frustrated because things were not happening.

He gave me the strength that was needed for that season. I was like Jonah when the season ended: God said “go” and I said “no”.  But, I got turned around

You might ask what stopped me. I’ll tell you– it was fear of letting go of what was familiar, wanting to stay around the people I grew to know and love and because of this I ended up exhausted, not being fully effective or efficient in either of the jobs I was doing. Still, I held on.

It was my having my plan and trying to make my plan happen and not surrendering 100% to His plan.

Before you say “You? You’re a woman who talks faith all the time!” Yes I do!

Yes, although I didn’t fully realize it at the time, but I was caught in the clutches of “FEAR”. Imagine that!

When a person becomes hungry enough for the vision God has placed inside of them and realize that we do walk completely by faith, then that person is ready to receive the blessings God has for them. We honor and show God that we trust Him!

God is calling many from their comfort zones into the walk of faith. Will you accept the call or will you hang up the phone?

Something else I realized by learning from the school of hard knocks: When one is not hungry enough, when one has “their” backup plan, when one does not aggressively commit 100% into their purpose, another cannot do business with them. A person must be able to deliver what they promise, when they promise and how they promise. If one has too many irons in the fire, too many options, so to speak, it causes them to put your business on the back burner resulting in your business suffering.

Why? Because that individual has to decide if they are hungry enough and going whole hog into their purpose. When that becomes their number one priority, then and only then, can one do business with them.

Okay, so February 28th I broke the cycle and left my good government job, the awesome and amazing people I work with and I jumped! Now I am resting up for a minute, getting some things in order, and moving forward. Yes, Lord!

Frightened a bit, but doing it anyway.

What if I fail? What if I win!!! After all, we are DESTINED2WIN! So failure is not even optional.

I encourage you to “JUMP” into your purpose. Don’t creep…JUMP! I am so glad I did and only wish I had been obedient earlier. Partial obedience is disobedience!

Now I can admit my shortcomings and as you look at the person staring back in the mirror at you, ask yourself–Do I really want it? Am I hungry enough yet? If the answer is yes, JUMP!!!

While we are on the subject, ladies, I said ladies, can you hear me? If you sit back and want that house cleaned and you know it’s filthy, JUMP up and clean it and repeat it as often as needed.  Holler!

If you want to rid yourself of excess weight, hit the gym or go walking or do something at least 3 days a week…JUMP!

If you wish for that degree, guess what? Wishing won’t make it happen…JUMP!

Consistency is the key!

Dedication, determination, disciplined, decisive, faithful, focused, fearless…

Whatever it is you desire, the time is now to JUMP! That is, if you really want it.

Men, you too! Jump, jump, jump to it!

I’m hungry and I am jumping like crazy…time for me to eat. I recall a scene from the movie BAPS where the male character is telling his lady (through tears) that he wants to be able to take her to a nice restaurant to eat and they shouldn’t have to sit back and watch others eat all the time (or something to that affect) and not be able to eat themselves.

Well, if you’re like me and tired of watching others eat while you sit on the sidelines, you too will JUMP!!!

If I fail, if I succeed, at least now I will live totally and completely as I believe. Holler!

One last thing, what if you jump and it does not work out? Will the people mock me? Will the people support me? Will I look foolish? Will I lose?

Reverse that: The people will support me. The people will celebrate me. The people will encourage and cheer me on. Those that are going to will; those that don’t really does not matter. Truth!

JUMP into whatever God is calling you to do. Don’t wait. Don’t procrastinate. Don’t vacillate between your plan and God’s plan. Just participate and surrender fully your will to His. Then you are ready to JUMP.

By the way, pick up a copy of Steve Harvey’s book, JUMP. I have it, haven’t read it yet, gifted a copy to a friend but I know it’s going to be yet another tool to help keep me motivated.

Have a great week!

life-is-full-os-possibilities

What makes one person seem super successful in their field or endeavors and yet others, pursuing the same,  who give their all, and follow almost all of the prescribed methods given, unsuccessful? Is one more qualified than the other? Is it largely due to the connections another has? Is it due to lack of faith on the part of the unsuccessful person? Is it the person has a supportive spouse/team to rely on or perhaps more financial backings not having to deal with the hassles of small things like: How do we live? Where will we live? How do we eat…while building?  Is it due to the unsuccessful person doing almost all? Or, is it just not the season?

The realm of possibility begins in the mind. Whatever we can believe we can achieve. So does one person lack belief in themselves as to their capabilities? Is the person waiting for the right people or the ideal time to step out or maybe…I mean maybe…there’s a bit of fear taking place.

Yes, having a supportive spouse/team or proper financial backings does help tremendously, but when one does not have either, it may take longer to accomplish, yet it still can be done.

Has the individual fully prepared for their assignment? Is that person stuck waiting on the same people that started out with them to cross the finish line with them? Does one know when it’s time to pass the  baton and the other fails to realize it?

Has unresolved hurts from the past caused the person to miss opportunities? What about past disappointments? Church hurts? Family hurts?  It didn’t work before so why should I think it will work now. Reality check: Perhaps you are in a better position this time and more adequately prepared than before. Everything happens in its season. You do play a huge part in deciding when your season begins. That is, after you’ve properly prepared and are ready to become a doer and not just a hearer.

Has the individual paid the price for their success which consists of investing by studying, learning, growing, networking, praying, falling down, getting back up and repeating the process year-after-year-after- year?

Today I encourage you to really examine yourself if this is you. I can attest to the fact that even though I have taught and wrote about having no fear, I have experienced it myself. Yes there are some things I KNOW that I need to and have needed to do for some time that I’ve allowed fear to keep me from actually doing. Is this you too?

There are SO many things I have done afraid. There are some where I’ve looked utterly and completely foolish. I was learning and growing. It’s not that season anymore. There are other times I’ve stepped out and succeeded.

FOR EXAMPLE:

Going to the doctor and he tells one in order to be healthier, you must follow these steps. Is it the doctor’s fault if you don’t follow the prescribed plan and end up stagnant or even worse off than you were before?

Mentors, teachers, and others tells you in order to get from point A to B to C to D and so on, these are the necessary steps to take. You fail to take the steps. Is it their fault that you don’t succeed?

Preachers gives us the unadulterated word of God. We go Sunday after Sunday and sometimes all during the week and hear the word. Is it their fault that ones life is in shambles because one chooses to go his own way? No, no, no!

KNOWING WHERE YOU ARE AND WHERE YOU’RE GOING:

Over the past few weeks, I realized that in order to pursue my purpose passionately, I need to make a lot of changes. When one is changing, one goes through the various stages of death as one is utterly dying to the old in order to embrace the new. We know losses due to death can be very painful.

It can be something as simple yet complicated as knowing you need to relocate (You’ve been in your current neighborhood for years and moving is painful. What if I don’t like the new place or the new area?  (Questions); or knowing you need to leave a job you’ve been in for years and change careers (You’ve developed relationships with others and they are now more like family plus it provides stability); or knowing you need to move to another church (You love the people in your old one, but you know it’s time as you’re relocating); or if you have young children involved knowing their life is changing (A move likely requires a change in schools); or knowing there are some people you really need to walk away from.

A person may even decide in this season that starting a brand new business is what s/he wants to do, dismantling the old one…something totally different from what they’ve done before but are properly prepared and equipped to do.

DYING TO SELF

One goes through denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and finally gets to a point of acceptance. These are referred to as The 5 Stages of Grief or The 5 Stages of Death. I’ll add another to this list of things we go through and that is carrying the weight of guilt.

When changes take place from what’s been one’s norm, we often look at who’s to blame for our being forced to change. We’ve become comfortable yet uncomfortable. People disappoint us. We play the mind game–If only this had happened, I could have stayed here. If only this person would have done this or that, I wouldn’t be in this position. Yeah that blame game can be something else.

This is the season to die to all of what was to embrace what is and who/what you’re becoming.

MAKE THE DECISON NOW–NO MORE FEAR–THE TIME IS NOW!

Decide who you are, where you want to go, plan it, work towards it and watch it happen. Decide what you want to do and have the courage to go after it.

As I looked back over some of my journals covering a span of years, I realized there were some things I had repeated over and over again; vows that I had made to myself that I failed to follow through on. I can be totally transparent as I know I am not the only one.

Things are changing. The cheese is constantly moving. The decision is– do we get on with whatever it is or do we get left behind? And honestly, it’s God who is doing the shaking, making what once was your comfort zone, no longer comfortable. He’s moving us to greater BUT He won’t force us.

We cannot hold on to the old and embrace the new. There comes a time when we must let go of what no longer fits where we’re going. Not easy but necessary. Actually every step along your and my journey is and has been necessary.

READY FOR YOUR COMING OUT PARTY?

Life is but a vapor. We are here today and gone today. So what are you waiting on?

I’m coming out. I want the world to know Got to let it show. Let this be your testimony today and then do it…Don’t believe me? Just watch! This time it’s for real! My actions will speak!

The realm of possibility does begin in the mind. And to answer the question posed…yes it is my season!!! Is it yours?

i-wont-complain-2

Does it sometimes seem like life hit you hard in prior years like a ton of bricks landed squarely in your chest? Is it just me or just when you think you’ve overcome one hurdle another giant one comes looming at your head? Is this the time you feel your knees buckle and cry out to the Lord “I just can’t take this anymore”? The good news is God knew the troubles would come before we did and if we really reflect on our lives we can say like the songwriter…all of my good days, out-weigh my bad days, I won’t complain.

Yes my friend, life has a way of knocking us to our knees. This is the ideal position to be in as when we fall there we look up and lift our voices and cries to the most High God.

It’s during these testing’s of our faith that we come to the full realization that in spite of it all, God has been good to us. He has been better to us than we’ve been to ourselves.

Let’s see, why do bad things continually happen in our lives? Hmmm, that’s an interesting question. Let me see if I can answer that for you.

Sometimes they come as a result of our bad decisions. Sometimes they come as a result of our procrastinating (which is still a bad decision). Sometimes bad things happen because we are under attack by the enemy. Sometimes bad things happen because we put our trust in people, rely on them to do what they say they’re going to do and for whatever reason they fail us.

I have unintentionally lied to people and made promises up the yang yang to others based on what others said they would do. I would never, ever deliberately  lie to someone. We had a verbal agreement, right? Wrong! It made me look like I was not a person of character and integrity. Is it the fault of the people that the bad things happened? Not at all. I simply put my trust in a position that is only held by God himself. (Psalm 118:8)

Sidenote: Last year when planning our 5th Meeting of the Minds Networking Event, I had people PLEDGE certain amounts of funds and backings in other ways. Gullible, naïve, I took it and ran with it. I made plans and did all kinds of stuff preparing for the event. I trusted the people and that was a huge, costly mistake. The people backed out and I was left owing  thousands of dollars, some of which, I still have not repaid as of yet. But I will!

I looked like a total and complete fool and lost respect among some and even lost some self-respect. LIFE LESSONS LEARNED THE HARD WAY! (You can read a lot more about this entire incident in my upcoming book whenever God releases me to release it. Believe you me, I have  made many costly mistakes)

Some bad things come as a means of teaching us valuable lessons we would not or could not have learned without the incident occurring (which could be a series of bad decisions).

Why do I say the latter? Sometimes we are so stubborn and hardheaded and have that mentality of doing things our way that God Himself cannot get through to us. It’s not like He doesn’t try or warn us. We just ignore the warning signs and keep doing things our way. We, or some of us, butt our heads up against the same wall over and over again until we get tired of the bruising’s and it’s only then that we gain the lesson. We pay the price the hard way when all we had to do was listen and obey.

If I knew then, what I know now: I would be slimmer, addiction free, financially savvy, debt free, healthier, wealthier, wiser, etc.. How many of us have said this?

In order to gain the wisdom that you have now, did any of you have to be like that Billy goat butting its head repeatedly against the same brick wall or were you wise enough to listen to Godly counsel? Just asking.

Case in point: I had known for a week or longer that I needed to get new tires, but I procrastinated. I went out to get into my car a few weeks back and guess what? I had a flat tire. Go figure! Now why in the world did that happen? Do I blame God? Was it the enemy or did I do that myself by ignoring the warning signs?

People, bad things do happen on a regular basis to good people, but many times we play a huge part in what’s happened. We have the innate ability to listen to the Holy Spirit and follow His leadings, if we only would. Accept responsibility, vow to do better, and move on. It’s imperative that we do.

For those things that happen that are totally beyond your control, seek and trust God to fix them. Do your part, whatever that part may be. Don’t ignore the warning signs and trust God to do the rest.

As for me, I won’t complain. Why? Because God has been too good to me for me to do so. Neither should you, because He has been so good to you too!

2017 can be the year of restoration. 2017 can be the year of reconciliation. 2017 can be the year that you jump. 2017 can be the year of turnaround. It can be, but we each have to be willing to draw a line in the sand and say enough is enough. It can be your time! The choice lies with each of us whether we want it to be or not.

Luke 22:31-32New International Version (NIV)

31 “Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift all of you as wheat. 32 But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.”

Happy New Year  from my family to yours!

money-3

Now that I have your undivided attention, how many of you, by a show of hands, can honestly say at one point or another you have said this? Guess what? So have I. But do you really need more money or is it wisdom that’s needed and good old fashion common sense?

Do you really need money or to reevaluate where you are, how you got there, your relationships (whether they are building you up or tearing you down), how you have used the money you have, etc.?

The reality of it is God gives us all we need…yes to include money. The truth is the opportunity to get money comes in the form of opportunities that require action on our part. Action simply defined: WORK!

A part of our action plan is to sit back and analyze what is and is not working, who is in our circle of influence, are they onboard in the real sense or in words only. Have you carried the weight of hoping, wishing, praying that they will eventually come on board in the real sense year after year?  These are the things we often fail to analyze and assess and because of this we say…God, I need money.

As a parent, the ones who drain our pockets the most are our children…our ADULT children. I read an article recently that stated many older Americans are delaying retirement…not because they cannot but because they feel they cannot as they are still helping adult children. When does helping cross the line to becoming an enabler. Honestly, as I reflect, I see I have been more of an enabler than a helper. But that’s just me. I know none of you have.

Another part of our action plan is to let go of any and every thing or any and everyone that’s preventing us from being our very best. Maya Angelou stated it so gracefully and eloquently…When people show you who they are, believe them. My problem has been I just could not believe what they were showing me.

Yes, everyone can change but people have to want to change. I believe we never give up hope that a person can and will change until the last breath is drawn but I also believe there comes a time when we have to let them go for their benefit as well as ours. And it’s not just about money, it’s for each of our growth…spiritually, physically, financially, and emotionally to help us spread our wings and fly.

As I was speaking with someone last week, it dawned on me that many of us say…God, I need more money as I want to… Let’s take a look at some things we may say we need money for.

  1. To go to school. Guess what, there are scholarships, grants and loans available to help one achieve that goal or vision.
  2. To purchase a home. There are some cities and states that offers homebuyers assistance funds.
  3. To start a business. There are numerous ways to secure funds for business start-ups. You just have to network and do the research to find the ways.
  4. To help with payment of rent and utilities. There are programs available for low-income families to take advantage of that assist with these payments.
  5. To live in general
  6. To give to others
  7. To _________________.

Yes, there are many things we say we have need of money for and rightfully so. The thing is God is not and will not rain money from heaven as some seem to think. He is not a genie granting wishes. What He will do is present us with ideas and opportunities that we can apply and WORK towards that will help us get the money and everything else we need. The question becomes: How bad do you want it? Do you want it bad enough to do the research, studying, networking, training, make the sacrifice of your time, talents and resources, and put in the work to get what you need and want. Are you willing to drop the dead weight you’ve been carrying?

Yes, it takes that elbow-bending, knee-bending, tenacious attitude of being doggedly determined to go after that that you say you need. You don’t need money. You need to stir up the gifts God has given you, work it, search out resources and work with them and allow God to provide the increase or money you need.

Are you willing to get out of your comfort zone? If you are not willing to put in the time, effort, energy, and work, you don’t really need any money. You are just talking loud and saying nothing. Don’t get upset with me, you know what I’m saying is true.

Let me encourage you to remind yourself of this, seeking after money should never be your goal. Of course, we need money to live. You need to always remember to seek first God and his kingdom and all these things will be added to you. Addition comes when you put God first, pray, analyze, assess, let go and then do the works.

So don’t let me hear you say that you need money not another day! You have ALL that you need. Wanna know how I know? The word says God supplies ALL of our need according to his riches in glory through Christ Jesus. Faith without works is dead.

Are You Ready for Accelerated Blessings?

“Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life that I might take it up again. No man taketh from me, but  I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.” John 10:17-18

In the above scripture, these are the words of Jesus. As Christians, children of God, these words can and do apply to our lives as well. The bible tells us that greater love has no man than a man lay down his life for a friend. We lay down our lives but we also have the power within to pick up our lives and start anew.

So…are you ready to see acceleration take place in your life? Have you gotten tired of having your life on hold? Are you ready to see exponential growth in all areas of your life? Boy I have some good news for you! This is your time!!!

You can get unstuck and now is a great time to do so. You can see rapid changes take place regardless of what has seemed to be insurmountable odds against you–NOW!

You’re probably asking: What is the secret? Let me tell you the real secret to seeing an accelerated turnaround in your life. Are you ready? This answer may shock you. You may think it’s so simple and wonder how in the world you missed it all this time. Well here goes…get radically obedient in doing what you KNOW you need to do. Take that leap of faith you’ve delayed taking due to fear or whatever has held you back. Be determined that now is your time. Say words daily such as “Today I will_______” and follow through.

Walk the walk. Talk the talk. Decide it’s your time and then go after it with such gusto that the heavens open wide and blessings are showered down.

Let’s lose procrastination…now is the time.

You’re asking yourself, “Okay now is the time for what?” Allow me to answer that. Now is the time to stop procrastinating in doing any and every thing you need to do to better your life. Some examples:

  1. Suffering from obesity–now is the time to lose weight and become healthy
  2. Suffering from lack–now is the time to get that budget on track
  3. Church hurts kept you away–now is the time to go back
  4. Family drama kept you in bondage–now is the time to break free
  5. Desire to continue your education but you procrastinate–now is the time to do it
  6. Desired for years to publish a book or start a business–now is the time to go for it
  7. Aspiring singer–now is the time to get coaching if needed, get into the studios, attend functions and do whatever it takes to bring it to manifestation
  8. Harbored unforgiveness and have that “Somebody done somebody wrong song” playing over and over in your head–now is the time to let it go
  9. Aspiring speaker–now is the time to get coaching, get into Toastmasters, step up when opportunities present themselves and go for it. Now is the time to say “yes” to you and your dreams.

NOW is the time for ACCELERATED BLESSINGS and SUDDENLY’s to take place in your life. Now is ALWAYS the time. The blessings are for those that are both WILLING and OBEDIENT. You’ve sacrificed enough! The word says if you are willing and obedient you will eat the good of the land.

Reminder: You decide what it is you want out of life. You determine your purpose. And if for some reason you believe that your purpose in this season of life is different than what it was before, it is totally okay. This is YOUR life! Aim to please God first, then yourself and go for it. Don’t allow anyone to define who you are.

The wait is over…walk into your season of accelerated blessings!
