Questioning Your Trials

All that the enemy has planned and plotted against you is a setup for God to bless you in ways unimaginable to the human mind! Yes, you my friend, have been SET UP.

Let’s take a look at a story in the bible where it shows just that. Let’s take a look at the life of Mordecai.

Mordecai, as many bible readers know, was the adopted father and actual cousin of Esther, who later became Queen over 127 provinces. He was of Jewish origin and thought by some; one in particular; Haman, to be worthless and disrespectful to the point that Haman was plotting his demise.

Haman went to his wife and friends who told him what he should do to Mordecai…he planned to hang him.

Little did he know that the wheels of change were already in place: He did not know that Esther had spoken to the King with her request for he and Haman to dine with her. He did not know that the King was having a restless night and while awake he reviewed the book of chronicles realizing that Mordecai had helped spare his life. He did not know that the King was thinking about rewarding Mordecai for his deeds which had gone unrewarded.

No, Haman did not know what was ahead.

Let’s look at the setup here: While Haman was plotting Mordecai’s demise by hanging him; the King was planning His reward!

To add insult to injury, the King asked Haman what should be done for someone who had gone unrewarded; for someone he would like to honor. Haman, just knowing the King was referring to him, gave him great details as to how one should be rewarded and he ended up having to march Mordecai through the streets, in all of his finery, proclaiming “This is what is done for the man the king delights to honor.” Wow!

You may feel that all you’ve gone through has gone unnoticed. You may think that your good deeds will never come to the forefront. You may believe that your work and/or living has been in vain. I tell you it was a SETUP!

You see God is looking and taking notes of all that’s been done; all of the hurts, pains, disappointments, letdowns: He’s taking note and He will reward you just when you least expect it.

Those planning your demise obviously do not know that God is keeping record. They don’t know that God is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him, who put Him first, who serve Him, who is willing and obedient, who loves him.

Those that have planned your demise do not know the God you serve, otherwise they never would have planned and plotted against you. You see His word says to “Touch not mine anointed nor do my prophet no harm.” Wow, if only they knew.

To finish the story, after Haman had walked Mordecai through the streets; after he had dined with the king and Esther, he realized that his life was on the line. He literally begged Queen Esther to save his life, but the same gallows he had prepared for Mordecai was used to hang him.

Vengeance is mine, saith the Lord: I will repay!

Don’t be concerned about the things that have or are taking place in your life. God is looking and recording every act, every deed, every thought…God’s got you! While you are being the best that you can be, serving God, serving others and doing as the Holy Spirit leads you to do; know that what the enemy has meant for evil, God means it all for your good.

It’s a setup I tell you. You, my friend, have been SETUP for humongous blessings and they are about to rain down on you.

Keep doing as God leads you. Keep giving. Keep being obedient. YOU WERE SET UP! Your blessings are about to rain down on you–pressed down, shaken together, and running over.

This is Going to be the Best Day of My Life

“And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”  Joshua 24:15

Yes my friend, THIS IS GOING TO BE THE BEST DAY OF YOUR LIFE!

The day that you make the decision that as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord, will be the best day of your life!

Does that mean you will be trouble free from this day forward or immune to the vicissitudes of life? Absolutely not!

What it does mean is that you are no longer weighed down from the cares of this world as you recognize your Father knows you, loves you and approves of you…just the way you are.

It also means that you are free from carrying the weights of the world on your shoulders. He’s got that covered.

It means that you don’t have to be concerned about the fiery darts that come against you nor be concerned as to how others treat you. He has that covered as well.

It means that in essence, you are free; free to live, enjoy life, to be and to do you, knowing that as seasons change in your life, He will also do some changes in you, perfecting you to become what He intends for you to be…nothing more, nothing less.

THIS IS GOING TO BE THE BEST DAY OF YOUR LIFE!

No longer wearing masks, no longer trying to retaliate against someone who has done you wrong (Vengeance is mine saith the Lord, I will repay), no longer keeping records of every wrong thing that has happened in your life.

Isaiah 54:17 states that No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, And their righteousness is from Me,” Says the Lord.

Weapons will form but that’s none of your business.

I encourage you today to know that you are loved, accepted, and approved by God and to make each and every day THE BEST DAY OF YOUR LIFE!

The weight loss has begun as we each lay aside the weight and the sin which keeps us from declaring the above statement; as we embrace our true authentic self; as we come out of hiding and boldly declare, “I am a child of the Most High God who loves me just as I am; as we no longer seek approval from man; as we embrace our uniqueness; as we daily surrender our will to His;  as we walk into our purpose; as we continually serve others in a spirit of humility; as we humble ourselves daily before Him acknowledging our constant need for His wisdom, guidance and understanding, we can and should declare THIS IS GOING TO BE THE BEST DAY OR OUR LIVES!

Rest. Relax. Breathe. Celebrate. Enjoy. Acknowledge Him. Praise. God’s Got YOU!

Waiting

Isaiah 40:29-31New King James Version (NKJV)

29 He gives power to the weak,
And to those who have no might He increases strength.
30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary,
And the young men shall utterly fall,
31 But those who wait on the Lord
Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint.

Progressing through life and moving through the various seasons, there often comes times when we have to wait. How we wait is determined largely by us, but it is a given that there will be seasons of waiting. So what do you do? How do you wait?

First off, it’s exhilarating when everything flows smoothly and we are on cloud nine…doing fine on cloud nine…flying high on cloud nine. When things suddenly stopped flowing as you desired them to do, or when you hit a slump, a slight detour, a roadblock or a hiccup, what do you do?

I’ll answer that in one word–Wait!

WAIT expectantly knowing that things will change.

WAIT and continue to do what you know you need to do and are able to do.

WAIT as you go about serving others.

WAIT–fasting, praying, worshipping and praising. Thanking God in advance for the manifestations.

WAIT knowing that God who has created each and every one of us is in control of our seasons. We do our part, WAIT, and trust God to do the rest.

Partial Lyrics to Juanita Bynum’s “I Don’t Mind Waiting”

I don’t mind waiting
I don’t mind waiting
I don’t mind waiting on you Lord
I don’t mind waiting
I don’t mind waiting
I don’t mind waiting on you Lord
None of us truly likes to wait, however we realize that as we go from one level to the next, waiting plays a tremendous role in the process. That’s a given.
Do you mind waiting? Do you fall completely apart when life causes you to stop dead in your tracks or do you worship, work, praise God, serve others, study, learn, grow and realize that this is necessary for your growth? How we wait is extremely important!
There will be seasons of downtime. I believe we spend more time waiting as we go from one venture to another, than we do progressing. Notice I said, “I believe”.
Imagine if you will, you set out to lose weight. You start to eat properly. You exercise. You do everything you know you need to do BUT you see no results for weeks, perhaps even months. You’re waiting to see the results but you START on your journey to become fit KNOWING that at some point and time you will get there. You set your target dates for your weight loss. You may or may not hit the mark on that particular day but you see lots of improvement. You feel better. You look better. The scales however are not your friend as they show you DID NOT accomplish your targeted weight. Do you shake your head and just say “I quit” or do you set another date and keep moving forward?
Let’s say, you are in school. You expect to graduate within a certain time period. Life happens, the hiccups come in the form of sickness (either yourself or a loved one), financial issues, and any number of other things. Life happens!  These prevent you from graduating on your expected date. Do you just throw up your hands in despair and say “It’s just too hard. I quit!” or do you get back on track as life permits and trudge forward later accomplishing your goal, vision and dream of graduating?
Do you mind waiting? You might as well not mind, but make up your mind that you will determine how you WAIT. He gives us the strength to WAIT. It is necessary.

Regina Mixon Quote Poster 2

As I pondered on some of the reasons things had not gone as I had hoped in my life, one thing resonated within and this may possibly be the thing that keeps you from succeeding…I was double-minded! Yes, and we know the word says a double-minded person is unstable in all their ways. Before you crucify me, allow me to explain and you may just see yourself in this.

Throughout the years, I have vacillated back and forth between staying on a job which provided comfort while pursuing my businesses and ministry. For awhile this was okay as in going through the various stages of learning it was absolutely necessary to continue doing both BUT the season ended a while ago and yet I still tried to hold onto my good job, my comfort zone, and pursue my purpose at the same time. It didn’t work. Torn between two lovers.

And things got worse on both.

God graced me for a season to be able to do both effectively but after that season was over I could not and would not let go.  I was mediocre in both and hated that. I was also extremely exhausted and frustrated because things were not happening.

He gave me the strength that was needed for that season. I was like Jonah when the season ended: God said “go” and I said “no”.  But, I got turned around

You might ask what stopped me. I’ll tell you– it was fear of letting go of what was familiar, wanting to stay around the people I grew to know and love and because of this I ended up exhausted, not being fully effective or efficient in either of the jobs I was doing. Still, I held on.

It was my having my plan and trying to make my plan happen and not surrendering 100% to His plan.

Before you say “You? You’re a woman who talks faith all the time!” Yes I do!

Yes, although I didn’t fully realize it at the time, but I was caught in the clutches of “FEAR”. Imagine that!

When a person becomes hungry enough for the vision God has placed inside of them and realize that we do walk completely by faith, then that person is ready to receive the blessings God has for them. We honor and show God that we trust Him!

God is calling many from their comfort zones into the walk of faith. Will you accept the call or will you hang up the phone?

Something else I realized by learning from the school of hard knocks: When one is not hungry enough, when one has “their” backup plan, when one does not aggressively commit 100% into their purpose, another cannot do business with them. A person must be able to deliver what they promise, when they promise and how they promise. If one has too many irons in the fire, too many options, so to speak, it causes them to put your business on the back burner resulting in your business suffering.

Why? Because that individual has to decide if they are hungry enough and going whole hog into their purpose. When that becomes their number one priority, then and only then, can one do business with them.

Okay, so February 28th I broke the cycle and left my good government job, the awesome and amazing people I work with and I jumped! Now I am resting up for a minute, getting some things in order, and moving forward. Yes, Lord!

Frightened a bit, but doing it anyway.

What if I fail? What if I win!!! After all, we are DESTINED2WIN! So failure is not even optional.

I encourage you to “JUMP” into your purpose. Don’t creep…JUMP! I am so glad I did and only wish I had been obedient earlier. Partial obedience is disobedience!

Now I can admit my shortcomings and as you look at the person staring back in the mirror at you, ask yourself–Do I really want it? Am I hungry enough yet? If the answer is yes, JUMP!!!

While we are on the subject, ladies, I said ladies, can you hear me? If you sit back and want that house cleaned and you know it’s filthy, JUMP up and clean it and repeat it as often as needed.  Holler!

If you want to rid yourself of excess weight, hit the gym or go walking or do something at least 3 days a week…JUMP!

If you wish for that degree, guess what? Wishing won’t make it happen…JUMP!

Consistency is the key!

Dedication, determination, disciplined, decisive, faithful, focused, fearless…

Whatever it is you desire, the time is now to JUMP! That is, if you really want it.

Men, you too! Jump, jump, jump to it!

I’m hungry and I am jumping like crazy…time for me to eat. I recall a scene from the movie BAPS where the male character is telling his lady (through tears) that he wants to be able to take her to a nice restaurant to eat and they shouldn’t have to sit back and watch others eat all the time (or something to that affect) and not be able to eat themselves.

Well, if you’re like me and tired of watching others eat while you sit on the sidelines, you too will JUMP!!!

If I fail, if I succeed, at least now I will live totally and completely as I believe. Holler!

One last thing, what if you jump and it does not work out? Will the people mock me? Will the people support me? Will I look foolish? Will I lose?

Reverse that: The people will support me. The people will celebrate me. The people will encourage and cheer me on. Those that are going to will; those that don’t really does not matter. Truth!

JUMP into whatever God is calling you to do. Don’t wait. Don’t procrastinate. Don’t vacillate between your plan and God’s plan. Just participate and surrender fully your will to His. Then you are ready to JUMP.

By the way, pick up a copy of Steve Harvey’s book, JUMP. I have it, haven’t read it yet, gifted a copy to a friend but I know it’s going to be yet another tool to help keep me motivated.

Have a great week!

life-is-full-os-possibilities

What makes one person seem super successful in their field or endeavors and yet others, pursuing the same,  who give their all, and follow almost all of the prescribed methods given, unsuccessful? Is one more qualified than the other? Is it largely due to the connections another has? Is it due to lack of faith on the part of the unsuccessful person? Is it the person has a supportive spouse/team to rely on or perhaps more financial backings not having to deal with the hassles of small things like: How do we live? Where will we live? How do we eat…while building?  Is it due to the unsuccessful person doing almost all? Or, is it just not the season?

The realm of possibility begins in the mind. Whatever we can believe we can achieve. So does one person lack belief in themselves as to their capabilities? Is the person waiting for the right people or the ideal time to step out or maybe…I mean maybe…there’s a bit of fear taking place.

Yes, having a supportive spouse/team or proper financial backings does help tremendously, but when one does not have either, it may take longer to accomplish, yet it still can be done.

Has the individual fully prepared for their assignment? Is that person stuck waiting on the same people that started out with them to cross the finish line with them? Does one know when it’s time to pass the  baton and the other fails to realize it?

Has unresolved hurts from the past caused the person to miss opportunities? What about past disappointments? Church hurts? Family hurts?  It didn’t work before so why should I think it will work now. Reality check: Perhaps you are in a better position this time and more adequately prepared than before. Everything happens in its season. You do play a huge part in deciding when your season begins. That is, after you’ve properly prepared and are ready to become a doer and not just a hearer.

Has the individual paid the price for their success which consists of investing by studying, learning, growing, networking, praying, falling down, getting back up and repeating the process year-after-year-after- year?

Today I encourage you to really examine yourself if this is you. I can attest to the fact that even though I have taught and wrote about having no fear, I have experienced it myself. Yes there are some things I KNOW that I need to and have needed to do for some time that I’ve allowed fear to keep me from actually doing. Is this you too?

There are SO many things I have done afraid. There are some where I’ve looked utterly and completely foolish. I was learning and growing. It’s not that season anymore. There are other times I’ve stepped out and succeeded.

FOR EXAMPLE:

Going to the doctor and he tells one in order to be healthier, you must follow these steps. Is it the doctor’s fault if you don’t follow the prescribed plan and end up stagnant or even worse off than you were before?

Mentors, teachers, and others tells you in order to get from point A to B to C to D and so on, these are the necessary steps to take. You fail to take the steps. Is it their fault that you don’t succeed?

Preachers gives us the unadulterated word of God. We go Sunday after Sunday and sometimes all during the week and hear the word. Is it their fault that ones life is in shambles because one chooses to go his own way? No, no, no!

KNOWING WHERE YOU ARE AND WHERE YOU’RE GOING:

Over the past few weeks, I realized that in order to pursue my purpose passionately, I need to make a lot of changes. When one is changing, one goes through the various stages of death as one is utterly dying to the old in order to embrace the new. We know losses due to death can be very painful.

It can be something as simple yet complicated as knowing you need to relocate (You’ve been in your current neighborhood for years and moving is painful. What if I don’t like the new place or the new area?  (Questions); or knowing you need to leave a job you’ve been in for years and change careers (You’ve developed relationships with others and they are now more like family plus it provides stability); or knowing you need to move to another church (You love the people in your old one, but you know it’s time as you’re relocating); or if you have young children involved knowing their life is changing (A move likely requires a change in schools); or knowing there are some people you really need to walk away from.

A person may even decide in this season that starting a brand new business is what s/he wants to do, dismantling the old one…something totally different from what they’ve done before but are properly prepared and equipped to do.

DYING TO SELF

One goes through denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and finally gets to a point of acceptance. These are referred to as The 5 Stages of Grief or The 5 Stages of Death. I’ll add another to this list of things we go through and that is carrying the weight of guilt.

When changes take place from what’s been one’s norm, we often look at who’s to blame for our being forced to change. We’ve become comfortable yet uncomfortable. People disappoint us. We play the mind game–If only this had happened, I could have stayed here. If only this person would have done this or that, I wouldn’t be in this position. Yeah that blame game can be something else.

This is the season to die to all of what was to embrace what is and who/what you’re becoming.

MAKE THE DECISON NOW–NO MORE FEAR–THE TIME IS NOW!

Decide who you are, where you want to go, plan it, work towards it and watch it happen. Decide what you want to do and have the courage to go after it.

As I looked back over some of my journals covering a span of years, I realized there were some things I had repeated over and over again; vows that I had made to myself that I failed to follow through on. I can be totally transparent as I know I am not the only one.

Things are changing. The cheese is constantly moving. The decision is– do we get on with whatever it is or do we get left behind? And honestly, it’s God who is doing the shaking, making what once was your comfort zone, no longer comfortable. He’s moving us to greater BUT He won’t force us.

We cannot hold on to the old and embrace the new. There comes a time when we must let go of what no longer fits where we’re going. Not easy but necessary. Actually every step along your and my journey is and has been necessary.

READY FOR YOUR COMING OUT PARTY?

Life is but a vapor. We are here today and gone today. So what are you waiting on?

I’m coming out. I want the world to know Got to let it show. Let this be your testimony today and then do it…Don’t believe me? Just watch! This time it’s for real! My actions will speak!

The realm of possibility does begin in the mind. And to answer the question posed…yes it is my season!!! Is it yours?

i-wont-complain-2

Does it sometimes seem like life hit you hard in prior years like a ton of bricks landed squarely in your chest? Is it just me or just when you think you’ve overcome one hurdle another giant one comes looming at your head? Is this the time you feel your knees buckle and cry out to the Lord “I just can’t take this anymore”? The good news is God knew the troubles would come before we did and if we really reflect on our lives we can say like the songwriter…all of my good days, out-weigh my bad days, I won’t complain.

Yes my friend, life has a way of knocking us to our knees. This is the ideal position to be in as when we fall there we look up and lift our voices and cries to the most High God.

It’s during these testing’s of our faith that we come to the full realization that in spite of it all, God has been good to us. He has been better to us than we’ve been to ourselves.

Let’s see, why do bad things continually happen in our lives? Hmmm, that’s an interesting question. Let me see if I can answer that for you.

Sometimes they come as a result of our bad decisions. Sometimes they come as a result of our procrastinating (which is still a bad decision). Sometimes bad things happen because we are under attack by the enemy. Sometimes bad things happen because we put our trust in people, rely on them to do what they say they’re going to do and for whatever reason they fail us.

I have unintentionally lied to people and made promises up the yang yang to others based on what others said they would do. I would never, ever deliberately  lie to someone. We had a verbal agreement, right? Wrong! It made me look like I was not a person of character and integrity. Is it the fault of the people that the bad things happened? Not at all. I simply put my trust in a position that is only held by God himself. (Psalm 118:8)

Sidenote: Last year when planning our 5th Meeting of the Minds Networking Event, I had people PLEDGE certain amounts of funds and backings in other ways. Gullible, naïve, I took it and ran with it. I made plans and did all kinds of stuff preparing for the event. I trusted the people and that was a huge, costly mistake. The people backed out and I was left owing  thousands of dollars, some of which, I still have not repaid as of yet. But I will!

I looked like a total and complete fool and lost respect among some and even lost some self-respect. LIFE LESSONS LEARNED THE HARD WAY! (You can read a lot more about this entire incident in my upcoming book whenever God releases me to release it. Believe you me, I have  made many costly mistakes)

Some bad things come as a means of teaching us valuable lessons we would not or could not have learned without the incident occurring (which could be a series of bad decisions).

Why do I say the latter? Sometimes we are so stubborn and hardheaded and have that mentality of doing things our way that God Himself cannot get through to us. It’s not like He doesn’t try or warn us. We just ignore the warning signs and keep doing things our way. We, or some of us, butt our heads up against the same wall over and over again until we get tired of the bruising’s and it’s only then that we gain the lesson. We pay the price the hard way when all we had to do was listen and obey.

If I knew then, what I know now: I would be slimmer, addiction free, financially savvy, debt free, healthier, wealthier, wiser, etc.. How many of us have said this?

In order to gain the wisdom that you have now, did any of you have to be like that Billy goat butting its head repeatedly against the same brick wall or were you wise enough to listen to Godly counsel? Just asking.

Case in point: I had known for a week or longer that I needed to get new tires, but I procrastinated. I went out to get into my car a few weeks back and guess what? I had a flat tire. Go figure! Now why in the world did that happen? Do I blame God? Was it the enemy or did I do that myself by ignoring the warning signs?

People, bad things do happen on a regular basis to good people, but many times we play a huge part in what’s happened. We have the innate ability to listen to the Holy Spirit and follow His leadings, if we only would. Accept responsibility, vow to do better, and move on. It’s imperative that we do.

For those things that happen that are totally beyond your control, seek and trust God to fix them. Do your part, whatever that part may be. Don’t ignore the warning signs and trust God to do the rest.

As for me, I won’t complain. Why? Because God has been too good to me for me to do so. Neither should you, because He has been so good to you too!

2017 can be the year of restoration. 2017 can be the year of reconciliation. 2017 can be the year that you jump. 2017 can be the year of turnaround. It can be, but we each have to be willing to draw a line in the sand and say enough is enough. It can be your time! The choice lies with each of us whether we want it to be or not.

Luke 22:31-32New International Version (NIV)

31 “Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift all of you as wheat. 32 But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.”

Happy New Year  from my family to yours!

god-speaks

On yesterday, I was interviewed on a radio broadcast, “N I’ve Got Something to Say” by Dr. Netreia Carroll. The question was asked: How can one tell when God is speaking? I pondered that over and over last night and felt led to share my thoughts on the subject.

Before I go into how we know that God is speaking to us and it’s not we ourselves, Satan, or others that’s leading, guiding, directing, and ordering our steps, allow me to share with you a small portion of my experience.

Back in August 1999, while laid flat on my back after having surgery, I heard an inner voice say to me, “I am breaking you to build you up”. Lying flat on my back, home alone (or so I thought), I was puzzled. I kept saying or rather asking–“Who is this? What is this?” I would be lying if I didn’t say it scared the dickens out of me. However, the voice continued to speak some other things to me as well.

Being new to hearing from God, I blabbed to everyone what I constantly heard in my spirit. This set off a long chain of negatives for many years. Hurtful things were said about me. I was labeled as insane. People distanced themselves from me and I wondered why.

Prior to this Damascus road experience, I thought myself to be a good person.(I was not persecuting the church but call it that just to be clear) I looked the part: had a great job,  dressed well, attended church every Sunday and Wednesdays, taught Sunday School classes, Vacation Bible School, served on this board and that one, went out with the church ministering to those in nursing homes, and sang in the choir.

Prior to my “experience” or encounter with hearing from God, I looked in the natural like I had it together. I was a giver and still am today. I love to give. Imagine my surprise when God said to ME that He was breaking me to build me up. I didn’t need breaking, or so I thought. My life was a total mess. If you haven’t read my book: To God be the Glory: From Brokenness to Wholeness, I encourage you to get it. You may just see yourself in the writings. Many have.

So how do I know when God is speaking and it’s not the enemy? Honestly, a part of my breaking period, God allowed Satan to speak to me. It took me a while to recognize when God was speaking and when it was the enemy. Satan disguises himself so well. God’s sheep learn to hear His voice and know Him and follow Him. (John 10:27)

In order to know that it is God that’s speaking we must:

  1. Establish and maintain a relationship with Him through reading and studying His word. The bible is full of what God’s will for our lives is.
  2. After doing that on a daily basis, we must get still and listen to hear what He is speaking to us. Shut off the TV or any other distractions and listen.
  3. We must ask God what it is He wants us to do. The bible says we have not because we ask not.
  4. We must expect Him to lead, guide, direct and order our steps.
  5. I cannot emphasize this enough: Listening is key. We must be willing to listen and obey.
  6. God’s spoken word does not contradict His written word.
  7. God will often confirm His word through people. Get Godly counsel. Surround yourself with Godly people.
  8. We must be willing to get alone and be alone in order to get our guidance from Him in whatever situation we are facing.
  9. We must understand that sometimes what God leads us to do has nothing to do with common sense. As an example, you are driving to work and the inner voice within, the Holy Spirit that leads, guides, and directs you tells you to take a different route. You know in your mind that the route you normally take is a lot shorter than the one you’re being directed to take. Hesitant, but obedient, you go that route that you’re led to go and later learn there was a terrible accident or road construction was taking place. Perhaps, you drive by a house that God is prompting you letting you know it’s yours. Maybe even taking the route the Spirit leads you to take causes you to run into your future spouse. What’s my point? God knows what’s best for us and if we listen and obey, we will come to the full understanding of His word in Jeremiah 29:11.
  10. We must ask or pray–God lead me, guide me, direct me, order my steps.
  11. We must obey.

God is constantly trying to tell us something. Today if you hear His voice, don’t harden your heart.

Did I miss it and get a lot of things wrong? Yes I did. Do I still sometimes get things wrong? Yes, I do. The one thing that I know that I know is God wants what’s best for us and if we study, listen and obey, He will fulfill His promises in my life as well as yours. He is faithful.

I’ll close with this. Find your space and meet with God each and every day to get your marching orders from Him. I have several. I read and study in my bedroom. I spend time conversing with Him in the shower. I spend time watching and listening to His anointed preachers and teachers daily and my God, when driving to and from work, we have a glorious time! Find your place(s) where you can hear what He is saying.

And people, please get away from that “something said” or “something led” and acknowledge God as that something. He really does want to tell you somethings.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from my house to yours!

god-is-trying-to-tell-you-something

If I were you I would say, speak Lord, speak to me! Maybe God is trying to tell you something.

The past two weeks have been very challenging for me; challenging to the point that I know I need to be still. I’ve lost a lot during these past few weeks, been totally and completely wiped out and confused about some decisions I need to make. God is trying to tell me something and I know it!

Sometimes I find that I am so busy moving here and there…just too busy. Is busy good? Sometimes yes and sometimes no.

God is not the author of confusion. God is a God of order and sometimes He is prompting us to get our houses in order. But what does that really men?

I. Getting our spiritual houses in order means:

  1. Placing and keeping God first in all that we say and do.
  2. Regularly assembling ourselves with believers.
  3. Giving as the word leads us to–spiritually, physically, relation wise, and financially
  4. Fasting, praying, worshipping
  5. Developing and keeping a relationship with our Creator
  6. Reading the word daily.
  7. Reading other inspirational books.
  8. Watching and viewing messages of love, hope, faith, etc. via TV, YouTube, Periscope or Facebook Live
  9. Get your praise on! God inhabits the praises of His people.
  10. Develop a habit of speaking in an unknown tongue. This confuses the enemy.

II. Getting our natural houses in order means:

As givers, sometimes we can really get this part out of order. We give and give to others without realizing our natural house is a reflection of God’s love in human form.

  1. Spending quality time with the family members that God has blessed us with.
  2. Maintaining our houses in a manner pleasing to the Lord. Translation: Keeping it clean and taking care of what we’ve been blessed with (material things)
  3. Maintain a pleasant and inviting atmosphere for those who enter in.
  4. Always remember, God first and our immediate families second, i.e., spouse and children and then others.

III. Getting our physical (body) houses in order means:

Our bodies are the temple of the Lord. To preserve and take care of the temples we must–

  1. Healthy eating/Proper diet
  2. Exercise at least 3 times a week for a minimum of 30 minutes each time
  3. Setting and keeping regular doctor’s, dental, and eye exams
  4. Getting proper rest.
  5. Maintaining our hail, nails and brows
  6. Always dressed in a manner pleasing to God (and for those that don’t know what an iron and ironing board looks like, I suggest you reintroduce yourself to them. They work miracles-LOL)
  7. Proper hygiene is extremely important! Don’t neglect it! 🙂
  8. Learn to say no to unhealthy things. Temptations will come.

IV. Getting our financial houses in order means:

  1. On a regular basis (at least once a week) look at your financial obligations.
  2. Establish a REAL budget. I wrote about this in a prior message.
  3. Start to regularly save. Invest into your account each pay day
  4. Pay off debts that have been in arrears. This can be done! Have a plan and follow it!
  5. Put those ATM and credit cards away in a safe place. Don’t use them unless the money is in the account or you’re able to pay off the debt when the card comes in. Overdraft protection still costs you.
  6. Learn the power of “no”–No to yourself and no to others. Think about the repercussions of purchasing that item today or saying yes to something that you can wait to get or do
  7. Avoid those payday loan places…Run Forest run!
  8. Schedule appointments with your bankers to see what financial tips they can and do offer.
  9. Attend financial literacy classes.
  10. Put God first by investing in His kingdom. Give your tithes, offerings, help a brother or sister in need, do it as He leads you.

V. Getting our businesses in order

Many of us have started businesses and for some reason or another they have not taken off as we have desired them to. To ensure we have successful businesses, and to get them in order, we must–

  1. Ensure that we have ALL of our papers properly filed via the various channels
  2. Ensure that we have the necessary insurance protections in case a situation occurs
  3. Maintain your bookkeeping or have someone do it for you on a daily or weekly basis–Remember your records are open for inspection
  4. Have on hand a legal advisor, a financial advisor, an independent accountant, an advisory board, and a supportive staff
  5. Learn and continue to learn any and everything related to your business
  6. File and pay your taxes timely. There are several that must be paid, not just IRS.
  7. Network! Your net worth is largely determined by your network.
  8. Associate, collaborate and do business with reputable people; people of character and integrity. First become that person yourself.

VI. Getting our mental houses in order:

  1. Study and read something on a regular basis that expands your vocabulary, your way of thinking and provides intellectual stimulation
  2. Network as much as possible with others that provide positive motivation, inspiration, information and encouragement
  3. Learn to be objective. When looking at a situation put yourself in both or all parties involved position.
  4. Join a book club. It’s amazing the discussions that takes place as each person reads the same book and walks away with totally different ideas or thoughts about the book.
  5. Join Toastmaster’s or similar groups if you’re interested in improving your speaking skills, vocabulary, etc.

If our houses are not in order, we run the risk of losing and that’s a risk we don’t want to take. If you’re like me you’ve done that enough. Lack and poverty is not our destiny. The word says to obey is better than sacrifice. If you are like me, you are tired of losing and ready to win.

We are Destined to Win. We should always Expect to Win and Expect Greater. In order to do so, we must take and invest the time in getting our houses in order. Now that’s an investment well worth the risk!

Never compromise your beliefs based on what’s popular or the belief’s of others. Be true to who you are…your core…the real you. If you find yourself compromising in your home, on your job, in your finances, with your health or in any area of your life, get it right.

Be the best version of you that you can be.

To those that don’t understand what I’m about to do: don’t worry because God will soon show you. To give you a sneak preview–I am getting my house in order!

By a show of hands, who’s ready to get their houses in order and see the manifestations of God’s glory on a regular, ongoing basis? Well, it’s not going to be easy but it is necessary. You’re really embarking upon the journey of dying to self and living life as God intended. Set your intentions to WIN!

The time to win is now! To be fit for the journey and the fights ahead, it is imperative that we get our houses in order.

Listen…do you hear Him speaking? God is trying to tell you something! Let’s repent and then aggressively work towards order. There is a call to repentance!

A Call to Repentance

In the eighth month of the second year of Darius, the word of the Lord came to Zechariah the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo the prophet, saying, “The Lord has been very angry with your fathers. Therefore say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts: “Return to Me,” says the Lord of hosts, “and I will return to you,” says the Lord of hosts. “Do not be like your fathers, to whom the former prophets preached, saying, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts: “Turn now from your evil ways and your evil deeds.”’ But they did not hear nor heed Me,” says the Lord.

“Your fathers, where are they?
And the prophets, do they live forever?
Yet surely My words and My statutes,
Which I commanded My servants the prophets,
Did they not overtake your fathers?

“So they returned and said:

‘Just as the Lord of hosts determined to do to us,
According to our ways and according to our deeds,
So He has dealt with us.’”’”

The Lord Will Comfort Zion

12 Then the Angel of the Lord answered and said, “O Lord of hosts, how long will You not have mercy on Jerusalem and on the cities of Judah, against which You were angry these seventy years?”

13 And the Lord answered the angel who talked to me, with good and comforting words. 14 So the angel who spoke with me said to me, “Proclaim, saying, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts:

“I am zealous for Jerusalem
And for Zion with great zeal.
15 I am exceedingly angry with the nations at ease;
For I was a little angry,
And they helped—but with evil intent.

16 ‘Therefore thus says the Lord:

“I am returning to Jerusalem with mercy;
My house shall be built in it,” says the Lord of hosts,
“And a surveyor’s line shall be stretched out over Jerusalem.”’

17 “Again proclaim, saying, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts:

“My cities shall again spread out through prosperity;
The Lord will again comfort Zion,
And will again choose Jerusalem.”’”

DISCLAIMER:  I share with you my thoughts and understanding as they relate to God’s word and will for our lives. Some may disagree and that’s okay. I do not profess to be a bible scholar. I am merely a woman who loves the Lord and shares my thoughts on various subject matters.

money-3

Now that I have your undivided attention, how many of you, by a show of hands, can honestly say at one point or another you have said this? Guess what? So have I. But do you really need more money or is it wisdom that’s needed and good old fashion common sense?

Do you really need money or to reevaluate where you are, how you got there, your relationships (whether they are building you up or tearing you down), how you have used the money you have, etc.?

The reality of it is God gives us all we need…yes to include money. The truth is the opportunity to get money comes in the form of opportunities that require action on our part. Action simply defined: WORK!

A part of our action plan is to sit back and analyze what is and is not working, who is in our circle of influence, are they onboard in the real sense or in words only. Have you carried the weight of hoping, wishing, praying that they will eventually come on board in the real sense year after year?  These are the things we often fail to analyze and assess and because of this we say…God, I need money.

As a parent, the ones who drain our pockets the most are our children…our ADULT children. I read an article recently that stated many older Americans are delaying retirement…not because they cannot but because they feel they cannot as they are still helping adult children. When does helping cross the line to becoming an enabler. Honestly, as I reflect, I see I have been more of an enabler than a helper. But that’s just me. I know none of you have.

Another part of our action plan is to let go of any and every thing or any and everyone that’s preventing us from being our very best. Maya Angelou stated it so gracefully and eloquently…When people show you who they are, believe them. My problem has been I just could not believe what they were showing me.

Yes, everyone can change but people have to want to change. I believe we never give up hope that a person can and will change until the last breath is drawn but I also believe there comes a time when we have to let them go for their benefit as well as ours. And it’s not just about money, it’s for each of our growth…spiritually, physically, financially, and emotionally to help us spread our wings and fly.

As I was speaking with someone last week, it dawned on me that many of us say…God, I need more money as I want to… Let’s take a look at some things we may say we need money for.

  1. To go to school. Guess what, there are scholarships, grants and loans available to help one achieve that goal or vision.
  2. To purchase a home. There are some cities and states that offers homebuyers assistance funds.
  3. To start a business. There are numerous ways to secure funds for business start-ups. You just have to network and do the research to find the ways.
  4. To help with payment of rent and utilities. There are programs available for low-income families to take advantage of that assist with these payments.
  5. To live in general
  6. To give to others
  7. To _________________.

Yes, there are many things we say we have need of money for and rightfully so. The thing is God is not and will not rain money from heaven as some seem to think. He is not a genie granting wishes. What He will do is present us with ideas and opportunities that we can apply and WORK towards that will help us get the money and everything else we need. The question becomes: How bad do you want it? Do you want it bad enough to do the research, studying, networking, training, make the sacrifice of your time, talents and resources, and put in the work to get what you need and want. Are you willing to drop the dead weight you’ve been carrying?

Yes, it takes that elbow-bending, knee-bending, tenacious attitude of being doggedly determined to go after that that you say you need. You don’t need money. You need to stir up the gifts God has given you, work it, search out resources and work with them and allow God to provide the increase or money you need.

Are you willing to get out of your comfort zone? If you are not willing to put in the time, effort, energy, and work, you don’t really need any money. You are just talking loud and saying nothing. Don’t get upset with me, you know what I’m saying is true.

Let me encourage you to remind yourself of this, seeking after money should never be your goal. Of course, we need money to live. You need to always remember to seek first God and his kingdom and all these things will be added to you. Addition comes when you put God first, pray, analyze, assess, let go and then do the works.

So don’t let me hear you say that you need money not another day! You have ALL that you need. Wanna know how I know? The word says God supplies ALL of our need according to his riches in glory through Christ Jesus. Faith without works is dead.

Are You Ready for Accelerated Blessings?

“Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life that I might take it up again. No man taketh from me, but  I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.” John 10:17-18

In the above scripture, these are the words of Jesus. As Christians, children of God, these words can and do apply to our lives as well. The bible tells us that greater love has no man than a man lay down his life for a friend. We lay down our lives but we also have the power within to pick up our lives and start anew.

So…are you ready to see acceleration take place in your life? Have you gotten tired of having your life on hold? Are you ready to see exponential growth in all areas of your life? Boy I have some good news for you! This is your time!!!

You can get unstuck and now is a great time to do so. You can see rapid changes take place regardless of what has seemed to be insurmountable odds against you–NOW!

You’re probably asking: What is the secret? Let me tell you the real secret to seeing an accelerated turnaround in your life. Are you ready? This answer may shock you. You may think it’s so simple and wonder how in the world you missed it all this time. Well here goes…get radically obedient in doing what you KNOW you need to do. Take that leap of faith you’ve delayed taking due to fear or whatever has held you back. Be determined that now is your time. Say words daily such as “Today I will_______” and follow through.

Walk the walk. Talk the talk. Decide it’s your time and then go after it with such gusto that the heavens open wide and blessings are showered down.

Let’s lose procrastination…now is the time.

You’re asking yourself, “Okay now is the time for what?” Allow me to answer that. Now is the time to stop procrastinating in doing any and every thing you need to do to better your life. Some examples:

  1. Suffering from obesity–now is the time to lose weight and become healthy
  2. Suffering from lack–now is the time to get that budget on track
  3. Church hurts kept you away–now is the time to go back
  4. Family drama kept you in bondage–now is the time to break free
  5. Desire to continue your education but you procrastinate–now is the time to do it
  6. Desired for years to publish a book or start a business–now is the time to go for it
  7. Aspiring singer–now is the time to get coaching if needed, get into the studios, attend functions and do whatever it takes to bring it to manifestation
  8. Harbored unforgiveness and have that “Somebody done somebody wrong song” playing over and over in your head–now is the time to let it go
  9. Aspiring speaker–now is the time to get coaching, get into Toastmasters, step up when opportunities present themselves and go for it. Now is the time to say “yes” to you and your dreams.

NOW is the time for ACCELERATED BLESSINGS and SUDDENLY’s to take place in your life. Now is ALWAYS the time. The blessings are for those that are both WILLING and OBEDIENT. You’ve sacrificed enough! The word says if you are willing and obedient you will eat the good of the land.

Reminder: You decide what it is you want out of life. You determine your purpose. And if for some reason you believe that your purpose in this season of life is different than what it was before, it is totally okay. This is YOUR life! Aim to please God first, then yourself and go for it. Don’t allow anyone to define who you are.

The wait is over…walk into your season of accelerated blessings!
