Read what one reader had to say about it–

Let me begin by saying what, Women Waiting to Exhale: You Have Permission, is not. It’s not your Wednesday evening prayer meeting and it’s not a blind lady conquers Mt. Everest. It’s real, gut wrenching stories, relatable tales, babies having babies and men siphoned off to the streets to hit the pipe. It’s about overcoming the DNA that wants to push you into making the same mistakes over and over again.
Each chapter has a wonderful introduction by Regina G Mixon, a brief bio of who the next voice will be and a grateful nod to their family. Then it’s a quick dive into each of these varied women’s lives. And their stories shine light on the things most of us keep in the shadows, sexual assaults, failed relationships, divorce and poor parenting. These brave women face their fears and usually with a bible in their hands.
And these are God without action bares no fruit gals. They pummel you with a force and it’s pushing you to forgive yourself, learn to love yourself and that’s a big first step toward the final result which is, the storm will end, things will be okay. Give it some time and you can accept that death, learn from the mistakes of a failed relationship and move beyond the divorce. Many of those physical problems will be resolved. The problem child that you helped create will settle down. Your special needs child will improve. In understanding Gods perfection in creation one’s self esteem is lifted in recognizing the uniqueness and beauty not just inside but outside as well.
I recommend this book to anyone who needs a little fixing, a nudge toward improving your relationship with yourself as well as with God. Reading this book was a pleasure.
Richard A. DeVall

But they that wait

Absolutely! But what do you mean by this? I’ve always heard “Do it now”, “Procrastination is a thief” “Move even if you make a wrong move, just take action” and now you’re saying there is a good time to wait? Yes I am!

There are times when we come to the realization that everything happens in God’s timing. No matter how we try to push, beg, plead, whine, roll over and play dead, to get whatever it is we think we want; if it’s not God’s timing it will not happen.

No matter how many lessons or messages we hear, and we know that they are great messages that if applied can take you to another level, no amount of pushing will make it happen. Why? Because maybe there are other lessons one needs to learn to be fully prepared for the assignment ahead. I’m telling you, when God blesses you, you have to develop tough skin and be prepared for the attacks that comes with the blessings! You cannot be a wimp and receive God’s best. You have to know who you are!!!

I shared this before and it bears repeating: I am so grateful that some things did not happen in my life when I wanted them to happen. Being grateful is an understatement. You see, I realized I had many, many more lessons to learn.

If you know that God has given you a vision or dream and it seems that your waiting period has lasted for months or even years, know that you ARE NOT waiting on man, but rather for God’s timing. Study, learn all your can, perfect your craft and gifts and know that in due season you will reap if you faint not.

Doors swing wide open when you are ready! Manifestations take place in a huge way when you are ready!

In Habakkuk it tells us …though it tarries wait for it because it shall speak at the appointed time. Pray while you wait, work while you wait, learn all you can while you wait, trust God like never before while you wait, praise while you wait, be good to others while you wait, realize you ARE NOT waiting on people so let them off the hook while you wait, and SUDDENLY what you’ve waited for begins to manifest before your eyes!

Is there ever a time when waiting is good and necessary for one? Absolutely!!!

Don’t become weary in doing well and waiting: your harvest is on the way!

I don’t mind waiting. I don’t mind waiting. I don’t mind waiting on the Lord.”

Ever had that moment when clarity came as to why you experienced what you have for so long? Ever had the divine revelation that what you had gone through was not even about you, but preparing you mightily to minister to others? I did and it came today.

God’s ways are not our ways. His methods of preparing us to minister to the masses are truly not ours. Let me share with you.

When in Louisiana, I endured some of the hardest times in my life—that is after God said He would use me for ministry. Prior to that, it wasn’t perfect by any means, but what took place after the calling were hardships and lots of them. Those led me to go off in search of sources to assist me in my struggles; they helped me to identify resources and gaps within the NW Louisiana area.

Fast forward, a few years later and I relocate back to the Southern California area. Things started off rocky as I was dealing with issues from my past while trying to move forward. Not only did I have unresolved financial issues after not being gainfully employed for 4 years, but I had unresolved hurts that I was dealing with. Things began to taper off and life was well…for a while. But then…

Disasters struck. Many things occurred that were totally beyond my control. The dark cloud came and hovered, like in Louisiana, for many years. These led me to go in search of help in the Southern California area.

God has been preparing me; or rather many of us, to collaborate, identify and fill gaps. The easier way for me would have been to just connect with the organizations I know provide the services, find out exactly what they do, and include it in our Information & Referral Program with God’s Storehouse. That was my way. It didn’t happen that way.

When a person has felt the pains so intensely, one who was once well-respected in the community, seeks to their lowest point in life, and cannot find the help they need or even after searching for months, can’t connect with the help, the person walks through and feels the pain so intensely that they can never be the same.

Now just imagine what a person goes through feels when they are not respected, considered an outcast, a nobody and they go off in search of help. Everyone loves a person when they are winning, but who loves and respects and extends a hand to those that are hurting? Those looking for a hand up and not a hand out? Some do, but sadly many pass them by.

I’ve gone into stores and other places dressed in my suits, heels, dresses, whatever, and gotten full respect and treatment. I’ve gone into some of the same stores in sweats and jeans and sneakers and looked at as if I were a thief.

I’ve experienced dealing with loved ones on drugs, suicidal, abused, in dire need of rental assistance or food or need in some kind of way. I’ve seen how they were treated. Heck, I’ve lived through the pains. Divorces, victims of domestic violence, those trying to start businesses and non-profits and keep going to the wrong people (those that say they can provide a service) while being misinformed and taken advantage of on every level.

I’ve seen people’s frustration as they attempted to connect with people to pull together a book not fully understanding the process.

I’ve experienced isolation, rejection, all of that. It hurt like hell but it didn’t make me bitter but better—better to the point that now that my season of suffering has ended, I am going to do any and everything, with God’s help, to get my life on track and then go out and help others in a huge way through the lessons learned, the services offered, by being compassionate. Isn’t that what matters most at the end of the day?

I walked through the pains and I felt the hurts. I know I’m not the only one.

Don’t allow the enemy have you hang your head in shame or feel guilt over something you had no control. Don’t allow the enemy to deceive you into thinking your suffering was in vain. Allow God to use your pain for His purpose.

Why NW Louisiana and Southern California? Those are the areas where God’s Storehouse and Regina Mixon Enterprises will serve. How can one fill a need if they don’t know the need?

In just a minute, I’m going to put on my robe and tell the story how I made it over. Are you ready to put your robe on? Why don’t you join me by sharing your story? Oh freedom! Ah, that moment when…

This is the truth so help me God! I am a living testimony!!!

It happened to me and I know that I am not the only one!

In my writings, I attempt to provide real and relatable messages of the powers we have available to us to break through barriers to live the life God planned for us. Regardless of where you are on the socioeconomic scale, you can begin to live a very fulfilled and rewarding life with your eyes wide open!

God alone changes the trajectory of one’s life after the season of His allowed or permitted sufferings. Won’t He do it?

In order to find one’s strength, sometimes the plan is for one to go through and grow through adversities. Once one has made it on the other side, one can really help to open the blind eyes of others simply by sharing.

How? By sharing biblical as well as pragmatic principles towards helping others be or become the person they were designed to be.

I told you a few weeks ago to get ready for some changes as many changes were taking place with me personally, Regina Mixon Enterprises, and God’s Storehouse Ministries and they have and continue to do so. I’ll continue to share my journey with you in hopes that someone is encouraged as they go through their struggles. I’ll continue to share the wisdom gained in hopes that if only one person wakes up, this journey was not in vain

A new dream and vision was given me sometime ago and that is one of First Loving myself totally and completely and showing it as with First Leading myself. Believe me I do! I believe not only that I can F.L.Y.: I believe I can S.O.A.R. and I am! This girl is on fire and on the move! WINNING!!!

You can too!

If He has to reach way down, Jesus will pick you up! When you’re at rock bottom, the only place to go is up! Go up with more wisdom! Go up with more knowledge! Go up with more power! Go up with more compassion! Go up with more courage! Go up with more tenacity! Go UP!

Remember: Be blessed and go out and be a blessing, but don’t allow anyone to make you or have you compromise your beliefs; don’t be gullible; don’t settle for less than God’s best in every area and all aspects of your life; don’t allow anyone to minimize the gifts and talents God has given you nor downplay your worth; don’t discount your works and/or services. I did and the price paid was a very costly one. Be true to who you are! As Whitney sang “Learning to love yourself is the greatest love of all”. Well that comes after loving God first!

Expect the best

So what if yesterday the bottom dropped out and everything that could go wrong did go wrong? To add insult to injury, Sister So and So called you up, just at that moment when you were having a hissy fit, and said “I told you that this was going to happen. You knew that man was going to leave you. You knew sooner or later that car would fall apart. You knew that job was just temporary. I told you so!” And you think, if I hear one more “I told you so” or “You’re crazy for doing this, that, or the other while maintaining a cheerful attitude.” or better yet “You’re just too optimistic. Get your head out of the clouds and come back to reality”, you WILL blow a gasket!  Why not remain optimistic and expect the best? What does it cost you?

I can tell you what you will gain by being optimistic, expecting greater, expecting the best…peace of mind, the ability to really rest in believing that though the bottom dropped out yesterday or even today; tomorrow may just be better; the ability to encourage someone else by sharing. The benefits outweigh the alternatives. At least this is what has worked for me…being optimistic and expecting the best.

Okay, so what are those alternatives? Restless nights, no inner peace, self-focus which denies one the privilege of serving others while going through, inner turmoil, thoughts of suicide, barking and biting at people for no real reason…

Zach Cutler writes in the 5 benefits of being optimistic. They are:

  1. Optimistic people see failure as a new start
  2. Optimistic people are expansive
  3. Optimistic people get healthy
  4. Optimistic people spread good vibes
  5. Being optimistic is the best choice.

The scripture even tells us that we are to expect and believe for greater and better. Not in those words, but all throughout it does clearly state this. It also goes on to tell us to cast our cares on the One who can actually handle them; that He will keep us in perfect peace if we keep our mind stayed on Him. The Word is such a source of encouragement and inspiration. Read it for yourself Sister So and So and maybe then you will begin to realize why your friend has that optimistic outlook. Chances are she’s read the Word and stands on it. Try it, it might just change you.

I’ll share a true story. I have spoken with a particular person several times throughout the years. This person confesses to not be a believer in God and has emphatically, rather proudly stated this countless times. This particular person has also said throughout the years that he feels his life is not going anywhere and often has thoughts of suicide. Yet he has mocked my and others optimistic attitude due to a strong belief in God. My response was–“Even though I have gone through hell, I still remain optimistic, I expect the best and am hopeful that the future will get brighter. I sleep well. I rest well. (Yes they are two different things.) and if I am in la la land or sleeping, just let me be. As Christopher Williams sang–Don’t wake me I’m dreaming…don’t wake me up til my dream is complete… dreams do manifest.” (And yes, I do keep him lifted in prayer on a regular basis because I once was lost too!)

So again, why not expect the best, be optimistic, expect greater, expect your dreams and visions to manifest? Why not? Hmmm? Something to think about. It sure beats the alternatives.

What if what you’re hoping for doesn’t manifest? Dream a new dream and remain optimistic–Expect the Best! Storms come in all of our lives. It’s how we deal with them that matters.

Reality? The Word is reality. Stand on it!

I share with you my experiences and what works for me. This may or may not work for everyone, but at least it’s worth considering.

If this article inspired or helped you in any way, say so in the comments section or better yet, email me at with your comments. Share your thoughts on the benefits of expecting the best as with your personal experiences.

Attendees of this event will have the opportunity to be inspired by a host of dynamic authors and empowering speakers with a balloon release ceremony for victims of domestic violence.

There are so many women and families in the world today needing to be inspired and help with transforming their lives. According to the National Coalition Against Domestic website statistics show 453 victims in Arkansas were served by domestic violence shelters and programs in one day.

It is our goal to mentor and restore the lives of women and children affected by domestic violence.

This event will empower those affected to stand as Real Women Releasing Fear and say “No More Silence”. The kickoff is scheduled December 17, 2017 at the Hilton Garden Inn Ballroom B & C from 5-9pm.

“Tiffany W. Washington, host and founder, understands what its like to rise from defeat to an over-comer. She was a teenage mother at the age of 16. Loss of family, friends, and loved ones happen to all of us and one day our loved ones will grieve our loss.  So, how do we get through the process of losing a loved one? It seems like the pain is unbearable and we sometimes feel we can’t go on, but we can.

Individuals and families are consumed with grief during the loss of a loved one, no matter the age or medical condition of the recently departed. Hopefully this article will provide some comfort as you go through the healing process.

I am no expert on this subject: I can only share my thoughts and beliefs with you on ways of coping with the loss of a loved one.

Some things I believe we can do are:

  1. Go through the various stages of loss. We all must go through these until we come to a final stage of acceptance. Yes, the loss is devastating and the stages are necessary for us to able to go on in life.
  2. Do not beat yourself up saying “I could have” or “I should have” or place blame on yourself in any way. Do what you can do while the loved one is here and realize you have no control over the day, the hour or the minute we lose someone or they transition.
  3. Take the time to grieve. Never let anyone tell you how long your process should be. The process varies from person to person.
  4. Join a support group. Connect with others that are suffering from losses of loved ones. Draw strength from them, actually you all are drawing strength from each other.
  5. Don’t isolate or withdraw from other friends and loved ones. This is a time when one really needs their love and support.
