Jeremiah 33 is a familiar passage of scripture to many of us. In the beginning of the chapter, God came to Jeremiah and told him to call upon him and He would answer and tell him great and unsearchable things he did not know.

He went on to say that He, the Lord, would bring health and healing to the houses and city of Judah that had been torn down. Let’s take a look though at some other promises God gave Jeremiah.

He said:

  1. I will heal my people and let them enjoy abundant life.
  2. I will bring Judah and Israel back from captivity.
  3. I will rebuild them as they were before.
  4. I will cleanse them from all the sin they have committed against me.
  5. I will forgive their sins of rebellion against me.

THEN, the Lord says why and what will happen: This city will bring Him renown joy, praise and honor before all nations on earth that hear of the good things He does for it; and they will be in awe and will tremble at the abundant prosperity and peace He provides it.

People, He said, calls the cities desolate waste, without men or animals, but He says that the sounds of joy and gladness, the voices of bride and bridegroom, and the voices of those who bring thank offerings to the house of the Lord, saying Give thanks to the Lord almighty for the Lord is good;  his love endures forever.

He states, “I will restore the fortunes of the land as they were before.”

What is it that you need God to restore in your life? Is it family relations? Health? Finances? Your reputation? Dreams and Visions? Just what is it that you desire Him to restore for you? God has given His promise of restoration: He can and will do it for you if you only ask and believe and follow His guidance and direction.

God wants us to live and enjoy an abundant life. A life filled with good health, great relationships, financial overflow, peace, joy, love, happiness…He wants all of that for us. He’s actually promised us throughout His word that He will restore everything that has been taken from us. Jeremiah 33 is just one passage of scripture that addresses this, but there are many more that lets us know God is a restorer, and only wants what’s best for His children.

So how do I get it becomes the question? At the start of these writings, I paraphrase Jeremiah 33:3. How do you or I get what God is saying to us for total restoration to take place–Call upon Him–morning, noon, and night and He will answer and tell us the way. Yes, He is the way and as such, will lead, guide, and direct us to total restoration.

Listen to hear what the spirit of the Lord is saying to you. Be quick to obey and watch restoration take place. He’s promised us this and God is not a man that He should lie.

Peace and Blessings to all of you!
