Everyone goes through a period of depression, worry, anxieties & fears at some point in their lives. This should not be your norm. There are some things that we can do to help us get through this stage.

  • Pray. Prayer is extremely vital as you are going through any or all of these things.
  • Turn off the negativity. Shut the news off. The main thing reported in the news is bad news. Be careful what you listen to.
  • Get away from destructive or negative relationships. Connect with and stay with people who will help you get out of the slump you’re in. Whatever one spends the most of their time around is what the individual later becomes. Get with positive people; people who inspire and uplift you; people of faith; people that can feed you and you do the same for them.
  • Read. Reading of something inspirational, motivational, educational, uplifting, empowering helps to change your perspective on whatever situation you are currently dealing with.
  • Get you off your mind. Look for ways you can do something each day for someone else. Happiness and joy comes from being a blessing to others. When you get you off of your mind, and look for ways to bless others, your joy will begin to return.
  • Deal with it. Whatever is making you depressed, worried, anxious or fearful—deal with it. I know some of us may have many things that’s the cause of these emotions. May I make a suggestion? Deal with one issue at a time and then progress to the next one. As you do your part, trust that God will do his part.
  • Praise. Praise God for what you have. Be thankful for what you have and not focused on what you don’t have. Keep a daily gratitude journal. List just 4-5 things daily you are grateful for and praise God for those.

Doing these things on a regular basis will help one get over or rather through depression, worries, anxieties, and fears. Try them! You won’t be disappointed but see your life turn around.
